Dr. Linda Feiwell Abels

I have been a patient of Dr. Abels for over 10 years. She cares about her patients and will spend as much time as needed. She calls personally with all test results and concerns. She is well known throughout Indianapolis and has excellent references to the best specialist in the area. I give her the absolute highest of recommendations!

I made an appointment for my elderly mother, whom I felt was being treated in a dismissive way by her doctor. Dr. Abels was warm and kind to my mom, and treated her with respect. She examined mom thoroughly, prescribed medications for mom, and has followed up with her closely over time. I believe she is the reason my mom is alive and strong today. Recently, Dr. Abels has had some major changes in her office staff (through St. Vincent), and the personnel sent to her are rude. On my last visit, the one staff member who called mom to come back to see Dr. Abels actually kicked mom's foot with her own foot because mom was not standing squarely on the platform of the scale as she was trying to weigh her. This did not sit well with me, and the staff member rolled her eyes and tried to communicate with the other staff by drawing attention to herself. I am an elementary school principal, and it was like seeing seventh graders interact. We did have a great visit with Dr.… Abels, as usual, and that made up for the rudeness of the staff. I feel badly that Dr. Abels overall rating includes a rating for this staff, because the staff is pulling her ratings down. That staff could care less about Dr. Abels, or her patients -- and that's a fact! I understand that we now are experiencing a loss of ability to have Dr. Abels as our doctor because she has left the St. Vincent network and they have a non-compete clause that she is bound to honor for one year. Dr. Abels was my doctor BEFORE she joined the St. Vincent network, and I am upset that St. Vincent is precluding her from seeing my mother and I. Dr. Abels is an exceptional and outstanding doctor.

My wait was long, but she spends as much time with me as she needs, so I know when I am waiting I will get the same careful attentions she is giving the patient before me.

Dr. Abels was extremely rude. She dismissed my pain and concerns, as old age, throughout my time as a patient of hers. Turned out, I had legitimate issues. In one case, she told me I had congestive heart failure, after my cardiologist reported that I did not. Turns out I had pneumonia, not congestive heart failure. I began seeing a new doctor, who is now taking good care of me. I would like add her that her office staff was marvelous. They were very kind.

Dr. Abels listens to her patients concerns; considers all options; and always personally calls back with results even if on a Friday evening.

I was having severe breathing problems with my asthma, needed new medicine to help my breathing, and I was treated as if I didn't even have asthma problems when my test scores proved quite the contrary. She told me I should go to a medcheck to have my chest listened too... This lady treated me so rudely, I would never recommend her. I went to another doctor who was simply great and he treated me asmtha appropriately.
