Her pre-dentistry studies included a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Towson State University, a Master of Science in Education from Johns Hopkins University, as well as pre-dental sciences at the University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC). She received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 1992 from the University of Maryland at Baltimore. Dr. Blann completed her pediatric specialty training at the University of Maryland School of Dentistry and received her Certificate in Pediatric Dentistry in 1996.
Dr. Blann has also traveled to the Dominican Republic …to remote mountain villages to care for people who rarely get dental care for themselves or their children.
Dr. Blann continues to improve her skills by taking over 50 hours of continuing education per year. She and her staff regularly attend continuing education courses for CPR, infection control, and pediatric patient management.
Dr. Blann's area of interest is providing pediatric specialty care for very young or extremely fearful children and special needs children requiring general anesthesia or sedation to receive their dental care.
