Dr. Linda Jean Cordell, MD

I visited Dr. Linda Cordell on and off for just over two years. I was diagnosed with complex PTSD and trying to work through my issues the best way I knew how. Linda told me I was overwhelming, charged me $50.00 for staying 10 minutes longer than my regularly scheduled session, and referred to my parents as “idiots.” Even if I was overwhelming, forgive me for trying to get to the root of my issue and wanting to learn how to heal. I would avoid Linda at all costs.

I have been to many therapists (Dr Cordell is a psychiatrist who also does therapy). Dr. Cordell is the most insightful with whom I have ever dealt.

This doctor took advantage of my time and money. She befriended me and charged me for phone calls which included many hours of her marital problems and her life. She isolated me by pushing me to trust her over my family and she tortured me emotionally. For over a decade this went on....I am scared she does this to others. I urge anyone going to her, to find another path. What she did to our family is tear it apart and charge us 10s of thousands of dollars to do it.

Why would a doctor spend hours on the phone with insurance companies and not charge for that time but yet charge another patient for the countless hours she spent sharing her OWN family dramas. She has 0 boundaries, no ability to set parameters for time and charges, no ability to have or maintain a staff to deal with insurance companies so that people with money aren’t used to buffer all her wasted time with patients such as yourself. I have a lot of money and she knew that and used that to fund her own poor self management. Psychiatrist don’t spend hours on calls with insurance companies and if she is doing this for you and you are writing about it, you are feeling SPECIAL and that is the beginning of the ridiculous treatment that will ensue from that.

I was referred to Dr. Cordell by a therapist for assistance with depression and anxiety trying to find a helpful mix of prescriptions. I had little luck with generics and we ended up trying over 5 combinations of different prescriptions. We went through several generics and the"approved formulary" list my insurance covers. We then went through repeated pre- authorizations that Dr. Cordell herself handled personally. Due to the initial adverse effects and trying low doses of different medicines, I initially saw the doctor every 30 days, or more, to figure out what worked for me. Through this time she was patient and thorough in her approach and closely monitored the effect the medicine had on me. I know she spent hours with my insurance company on the phone or filling out online and faxing in information to get my prescriptions approved - time I was never charged for. I have also spent time on the phone with her where we made changes in the dosage and medicine I currently take,… again time I was never charged for. None of my other doctors have come close to providing this level of care.

I have personally been webbed in with my charge card by this woman. She will say your mother, your sister, your husband, your boss, your coworkers, everyone is BAD. She is the ONLY one who has your best interest at heart.....she just needs your charge card number..... you isolated emotionally......and there you have it.....cha Ching, cha Ching......You can also get 90 day prescriptions from other psychiatrists. She only does 30 days so she can control charging you more often.....go to anyone but her!!!

Do NOT go to this woman. I know her personally and professionally. She is narcissistic, she HATES men, she HATES her husband, she will set out to cunningly manipulate you and anyone else you can bring in based on her OWN experiences, her OWN attitudes... she is NOT interested in the WORK of being a therapist. She wants to get paid to be sarcastic, self-involved, self affirming. She is clueless on how to support a patient to real life changes.

Has treated all members of my family from time to time. Extremely helpful and top notch at diagnostics. Keeps up to date on all meds and watches labs. Could not hope for a better physician. She understands even to most paranoid patients in regard to privacy.Only one con, does not accept insurance.
