Dr. Linda Shuman Durst, MD

Linda S. Durst, M.D. is a Board Certified Psychiatrist with specialty training in Geriatric Psychiatry. Dr. Durst is originally from Philadelphia where she attended college at the University of Pennsylvania as a major in Behavioral Biology and Penn State University College of Medicine, graduating in 1987. She completed her internship at Pennsylvania Hospital and residency at The Institute of Pennsylvania Hospital and devoted most of her final year of residency to specialty training in Geriatric Psychiatry. Since then, she has worked in all levels of care, including inpatient, outpatient, partial hospital, intensive outpatient, residential and nursing home as well as achieving some expertise in the treatment of Developmental Disability in adults and grief therapy.
Dr. Durst has functioned as an administrator and clinical teacher since leaving her residency, serving as a medical director of both inpatient and outpatient programs and teaching medical students and residents from the …University of Pennsylvania Hospital system, Jefferson Medical School, the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, and the University of Arizona College of Medicine. Most recently, Dr. Durst has served as Medical Director, Service Chief and Vice Head of Psychiatry at the University Of Arizona College Of Medicine, University Physicians Healthcare Hospital. She has received awards for writing, teaching, clinical skill and was recognized as a Best Doctor in America in 2010.
