Dr. Linda Johnson Matthews, MD

A native of High Point, North Carolina, Dr. Matthews holds a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a medical degree from its School of Medicine. While in medical school, Dr. Matthews developed special interest in burn surgery and completed two years of general surgery residency prior to entering the residency training program in pathology. She completed her residency in anatomic and clinical pathology at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center, concentrating in surgical pathology and cytopathology. Dr. Matthews joined Carolinas Pathology Group and Celligent Diagnostics in 1999 to provide surgical pathology and cytopathology services. She also serves as Director of Cytopathology at Celligent Diagnostics and has an interest in soft tissue and bone pathology.
