Dr. Linda Sue Niehaus, MD

It has been difficult to find a Dr. my mom likes and will listen to. We both liked our visits with her. I have just switched her to being my doctor as well.

I saw Dr. Linda Niehaus for the thyroid issues I was having. She did not have the full thyroid blood panel done, just 2, which came back normal. I felt she did not listen to my thyroid symptoms. She offered to put me on anti-depressants, which I do not suffer from depression - she said it often helps women cope with their weight gain and to sleep better. She offered a mammogram and a flu shot - again, I was there for persistent thyroid problems. If she had known to run a full thyroid panel and if she had known what to look for and how to treat hypothyroid issues, then she would have discovered I have full-on Hashimoto's. Don't settle for less. Look elsewhere if you have any thyroid issues. She had also told me that I have no inflammation in my body, yet my current doctor says it's what's contributing to my thyroid symptoms. If I had continued to listen to Dr. Niehaus, Hashimoto's would have entirely destroyed my thyroid. See a doctor who will run a full thyroid panel when you say… that's what you're there for, and who won't dismiss you by telling you not to do internet research for your symptoms. Keep looking and don't settle for less.

Dr.Niehaus misdiagnosed me twice once for skin cancer and another time for Pulminary Fibrosis. This caused my family and I considerable stress and needless anxiety.

Does listen. Caring. Explains things well. Does readily make any reasonable request I make for a referal to a specialist or a request fir a non-routine blood test such as vitamin D levels. Very important is that if she does not know something she will say so. No doctor knows everything. However she did misdiagnose me as having COPD (the lung specialist later confirmed my suspicion that I did niy have COPD) and as a result prescribed a medication inappropriate.

This doctor was rude crude and gave my daughter an adult dose of hep a vaccine. This doctor also called my wife and i retarded in our medical records. Run. Far away.

Dr. Niehaus attended to all of my needs and questions. She is smart, knowledgable, caring and was extremely helpful with my overall concerns. I would recommend her in a heart beat.

I thought maybe she was just having a bad day but now that I have seen her several times I'm pretty sure she needs mental help. She will be open and receptive and interactive one minute and then 5 minutes later she's back to cutting me off and telling me my concerns are ridiculous. They're not.
