Dr. Linda Midori Sakimura, MD

Linda Sakimura, MD, FAAP (Dr. S) began practicing pediatrics in Stockton in 1999, and became a partner in Pediatric Associates of Stockton in 2001. She is a southern California native and graduated Cum laude from Harvard University in Cambridge, MA in 1991 with a BA in English and American Literature and Languages. Dr. S continued her schooling at the University of California, Los Angeles where she received her Medical degree in 1996. In 1992 Dr. S was the recipient of the Josiah Brown Research Prize for the Best summer Research Abstract and Presentation at UCLA. She was part of the Howard Hughes Medical Institute/NIH Research Scholars Program in Bethesda, MD in 1993 and 1994. In 1993 she studied at the National Science Foundation Summer Institute in Tokyo, Japan. Dr. Sakimura also did research at the California Institute of Technology in Pasadena, CA in 1988-1989, The National Institutes of Health/National Institute of Child Health and Human Development Research in 1990, and The …National Institute of Leprosy in Tokyo, Japan in 1993, and the National Institutes of Health/National Institutes of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, Howard Hughes Medical Institute/NIH Scholars Program in 1993-1994. After medical school Dr. S did her pediatric residency at the Childrens Hospital Medical Center of Northern California in Oakland, CA before moving to Stockton and coming to work with Dr. Cahill and Dr. Billigmeier. She is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and an active member of The California Medical Association as well as the San Joaquin County Medical Society. She has active hospital privileges at both St. Josephs Medical Center and Dameron Hospital. Dr. S is married to Alan Kawaguchi, an orthopedic surgeon in Stockton. They have twin sons, Alex and Andrew. She loves spending her spare time with her children and rooting for the Kings.
