Summary
About Me
I was born and raised in Roanoke, Virginia. I attended undergraduate school at nearby Virginia Tech, where I studied engineering science and mechanics. Then, I went to medical school, residency, and fellowship at the Medical College of Virginia (also known as Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine). There, I met my wife, Lili. We have one son, Andrew.
Why I Chose Medicine
I chose medicine as a career because the ability to make and keep people healthy is gratifying. My work helps allow people to enjoy living their lives and doing the things they like to do. In particular, I chose the specialty of radiology because radiology allows us to gain knowledge about disease processes in the most non-invasive way possible. Increasingly, technological advances have allowed us to view more and more details in the human body that were not possible in the past.
Why I Chose Kaiser Permanente
Practicing at Kaiser Permanente allows an efficient, team-oriented approach to taking …care of people, where doctors can work together to do what we feel is appropriate for the patients' health without the worries of business management and insurance paperwork.
Personal Interests
When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with family and friends and traveling. Having a family has made a little less time for things I used to do, but I still enjoy such things as running, rollerblading, and seeing the latest Hollywood blockbusters.

Ensuring Data Transparency and Trust: A Guide to Vitals Doctor Listings and Reviews
Our provider data is gathered directly from physicians and publicly available databases. Providers who verify their profiles gain the ability to update information, offering additional details about their specialties, education, treated conditions, performed procedures, and accepted insurances.
Reviews on Vitals are submitted by users only. Recognizing the valuable insights these reviews offer into a doctor's reputation, we maintain internal policies and protocols to ensure the quality and accuracy of all reviews. Importantly, providers cannot delete or alter reviews independently. Reviews can only be deleted or changed following an internal assessment by our customer service team.
Your feedback is highly valued and we encourage you to contact our support team should you encounter any issues.
