Dr. Lindsey N. Atkins

I provide individual therapy to children, adolescents, and their caregivers, using play and talk-based interventions that draw from psychodynamic, attachment, and trauma-informed theories. I have experience in various outpatient settings, working alongside children in the deep and complex work of self-exploration and understanding, developing comfort and tolerance of one’s internal experience, managing development and the growing up process, developing secure and open relationships with others, and processing the impact of past and current experiences on their growing sense of themselves, others, and the world. I work closely and collaboratively with parents and caregivers to strengthen parenting skills, while also exploring the impact their own histories may have on their parenting and in their relationships with their child.
