During my recent search for female podiatrist, I found this one, Dr. Linh N. Nguyen, associated with my health insurance network, so I scheduled an appointment for my daughter. I’ve been apart of the medical field for almost three decades and naturally I began teaching my children as toddlers about the anatomy and physiology of the human body. As young adults they are well attunded with themselves and their environment. My daughter described her visit with this Provider behavior as disrespectful and intolerant. My daughter described Dr. Nguyen as becoming displeased when she asked simple questions and even more annoyed at questions about a less invasive procedure, then intentionally inflicted pain while sarcastically asking her “You don’t really feel that, do you?” What Dr. Nguyen didn’t know is that my daughter has studied her chronic condition independently, use myself as a resource of information, and has had the ability to discuss her condition with other Providers, and is… now herself studying in the medical field. Providers who behave in this fashion need to recall the days when they didn’t know ANYTHING and remember NOW who they represent. I want to thank Dr. Nguyen on behalf of all the young women who maybe one day be a Provider for her.
