Dr. Lionel Urbain Mailloux, MD

Dr. Mailloux was always thorough, gentle and optimistic. His competence was, by us, unquestioned - though we always had questions when we helped our mother during her visits to see dr. M. He gave her all the time she needed, rallied with beauracracies when he knew she needed additional medication and such, and put her at ease in a way which, with his understated sense of humor and various small stories that illustrated this or that - both charmed and calmed her. She didn't quite make it to age 100 which he had predicted, having already known her for a decade at the point of his prediction, but he wasn't that far off the mark either. And to live with hope - with that particular hope - made life while she had it to share with it, feel less to be feared and more to be lived. We can never thank Dr. Mailloux fully enough for all the concern and help he offered to our dear mother.
