Dr. Lisa E. Atkinson, MD

Since the first visit I ever had with her it’s been nothing but problems. She’s so uncompassionate and so dismissive. I was beyond taken aback the first appointment due to her lack of care and bluntness. She tried charging me $200+ just for an appointment that they FORCED me to make just to come in, sit down and have her tell me about my prescription birth control that I’ve been taking for 2 years at the time for less than 5 minutes. Didn’t even do an exam, didn’t even lay a finger on me and she had the brain cells to try and charge me(which I didn’t even pay cause I called the office and refused). Every time I need to refill my prescription she always has a problem and denies my request so I go months without my birth control and lies, saying I don’t need a refill because I ‘have a year supply for three months.’ Ok, tell that to the one pill I have left and no longer have a valid prescription for it because of you. I wouldn’t recommend this woman to my worst enemy. Will be switching… doctors office ASAP

She has been my PCP for over 15 years and I feel she does not even know or care who I am. I am not sick often so when I am I need my doctor! She NEVER calls me when I ask, even when I was so sick and was brushed off by another doctor I saw there. Turns out I had Giardia!! I was begging for tests to be done! I feel she doesn't take me seriously and does not make me feel like I am cared for. Waited too long to change doctors.

She is so quick to dismiss my medical concerns, telling me it's due to stress. She refuses to see me even though she is my primary care, and orders me to go to urgent care instead. She's honestly the worst doctor available at Dartmouth Hitchcock, I'm changing my doctor. She doesn't take her patients seriously

Dr Atkinson rushed me out of her office & did NOT order a throat culture after I told her that I was experiencing symptoms of strep throat. She did a very quick exam, told me I didn't have strep just a virus & there was nothing she could do for me. Two days later I want to urgent care, got a throat culture & was diagnosed with strep throat. This is a terrible doctor & I will never see her again or take my children to see her!!!

IF I ever get to see her, she is curt and dismissive about my symptoms. The last time I saw her she never even touched me for any exam and dismissed my symptoms by diagnosising me with a smirk saying "well, your just getting old!" I am 47 and still have the same symptoms several months later with no relief. She has no bedside manor, and not a very professional apprearance. She looks more like a country vet than an MD. Also, she does not follow up. I would rather go to the walk-in than see her. I get better, more compassionate care there and the Dr.s genually seem to care about your treatment.
