Dr. Lisa Binder Barr, MD

Knowledge is lacking. Accused of seeking out opioids. Pushed supplements that start at $60 and have nothing to do with connective tissue disorders. In it to make money and disregard actual symptoms.

My husband was sent to Lisa Barr. I wouldn't recommend her to anyone. My husband went for lower back pain, he takes no pain meds what so ever. He had blood work and came back 2 weeks later for what he thought would be an injection in his back. After about 5 minutes with her parents I realized he wasn't getting an injection. I asked what is going on and her parents said Dr. Barr thinks he should deal with his depression first. WHAT??? He came for a shot??? She then gave him a card that had Lisa Barr's book info on it that she recommend he get from Amazon. You've got to be kidding me. When you her Lisa Barr's name, run, run as fast as you can.

i saw dr barr at her new office. her and her np convinced me to get injections for neck instability. they told me they could give me something for my anxiety beforehand. i get to my appointment and they inform me that they would have had to write me a script. they didn’t tell me anything aftercare wise for after the injections and when i was 4 days out with excruciating neck pain i called and they had me come in. she analyzed my mental health and asked questions about my childhood and tried to sell me her book. i felt dismissed and like she was trying to make me feel crazy. will not be going back.

I first saw Dr Barr in 2008 for debilitating lower back pain. She recommended prolotherapy, a procedure which was fairly unknown at that time. I had 6 prolotherapy procedures, and had no back pain for over 10 years. I am returning to her after a fall and look forward to the results. Dr. Barr is so caring. She takes all the time you need during visits and explains everything about your condition and her recommendations. I highly recommend her. For me it was worth the extra time to have my body heal itself, rather than spend extended time time on pain killers and anti-inflammatory meds. Her PT group is great as well, and while you might have to wait a bit in the office to see her, it's because she takes as much time as you need at every visit. I highly recommend her.

Dr. Barr has been helping me with syrinx, shoulder, hip, and knee issues. I never feel rushed or dismissed. She shows me my Xrays and MRIs and thoroughly discusses them with me. When unable to help with one issue, Dr. Barr did not hesitate to admit it and refer me to a surgeon. To correct and alleviate other issues, she and her wonderful staff have been working with me. I have experienced relief from pain and been educated on methods to help myself correct some issues. I'm so thankful I was referred to Dr. Barr. She and her staff are amazing!

Dr. Barr has helped me greatly in the last year to understand pain and alternate ways of treating pain. As a result of this I’m in a much better place in my life than I have been in quite a few years. I’d highly recommend her.

I went to see Dr. Barr for bad ankle. I've had 3 surgeries and 4 1/2 years of pain with the ankle. My ortho wanted me to see her to get pain meds. She immediately wanted to do injections in my scars, which didn't help. Then, she wanted to do a procedure that Worker's Comp and my ortho both did not approve. Besides this, she wanted to refer me to a psychologist to deal with pain management (I thought she did pain management??) When I first went to see her, I was taking 200 mg of Tramadol. She cut that to 100 and told me to exercise more (how can I exercise on a painful foot with no meds to help???) Today, she said she was cutting me off of the 100 mg. When I asked what I'm supposed to do, she responded that she thinks the pain is in my head. She continued by saying that the 75% of people who have pain "have it in their head". Wow. So, I'm imagining that my foot is swollen and sore? She said she doesn't want to be a doctor who just prescribes meds, but has nothing else to do for me. I… don't understand how she is a pain doc who won't help with pain.

I had pain in my back (lose ligaments on my C3/4) which caused me horrendous pain. I had a series of prolotherapy injections and was CURED. Per my updated MRI result "There is a reversal of the cervical lordosis most pronounced at the C3-C4 level. .. 2 mm anterolisthesis of C3 on C4." I have had additional back issues DDD in the lumbar region and went to her for additional treatment. It didn't go as well as I had hoped. Although I was upset with her at the time and angry with the medical system for not "fixing me" the way I felt I needed to be, I've come to terms and think she did everything that she could do for me professionally.

Dr. Barr is actually interested in her patients. She takes time to talk to you and will not leave until she is satisfied that you are satisfied. Her methods are outstanding, she will find a solution to your pain and treat it accordingly. An outstanding doctor.
