Dr. Lisa Caroline Buckingham, MD

Dr Buckingham is my favorite doctor. She takes the time to listen to your questions and answer them thoroughly. She is thoughtful and proactive. She delivered two of my children. She never minimized my requests and took very good care of me and my unborn child that had some health concerns. I highly recommend her!

Due to my husband's former career we had to move many times throughout the years. When we settled down permanently here in TN, I eventually found Dr. Buckingham. Dr. Buckingham is the best OB/GYN I have ever had! She is kind, down to earth, professional and very thorough in her care and treatment of her patients. Her dedication to her career is evident. I highly recommend her.

Dr. Buckingham and her staff lack not only empathy for patients in pain, but also lack the necessary medical knowledge to sufficiently treat patients. She and her nurse incorrectly read simple tests results resulting in physical pain and suffering. With her, it’s a losing fight to ask and beg for treatment. You’d have better luck getting medical advice from WebMD, at least it won’t tell you to live in pain and that’s there’s nothing more to be done.

I have been a patient of Dr. Buckingham's for over 5 years; my family and I could not be more happy with the care I and my children have received. She cared for and helped me through 2 pregnancies, deliveries, & recoveries (both c-sections), and has been honest, helpful, and caring regarding all of the questions I've had along the way. My experience has always been fantastic. I strongly recommend Dr. Buckingham; she is great!

I've seen doctors in Virginia, Maryland and Indiana - Dr. Buckingham is by far the best and most caring doctor I've ever been to. She really listens and offers solutions for your long term health. I trust her completely! When I needed surgery, she was there for me physically and emotionally. She also took the time to talk with my husband after surgery. She didn't rush through anything and answered any questions he had. She is truly a blessing!

Lisa Buckingham is the most caring Doctor I have ever went to. She knows what she is doing and gives you a very thorough examination and explains in words you can understand. She will be my Doctor forever.

I saw Dr. Buckingham a few months ago. My mom and sister recommended her, as I had just moved here and didn't know which doctor to see for my annual exam. I had no trouble setting up the appointment and the girls in the office were friendly and professional, as was Dr. Buckingham. She started the appointment off by asking how I was, were there any health issues I would like to discuss? I told her about how my husband and I are planning on trying to have our first baby within the next year. She seemed very caring and answered all of my questions thoroughly. We talked for probably twenty minutes about that, then she did my exam, which took no more than 2 minutes. I left, feeling excited that I had found an OB GYN, for in the future when I get pregnant. Then, a few weeks later, I received a bill from Dr. Buckingham's office, charging me for an extra office visit (in addition to the one for the annual exam, which my insurance covers). I called the office, confused about why I was being… charged for two visits. I talked to Melissa, in billing. She was very helpful and said that it looked like since I had also mentioned symptoms of a UTI, I was being charged for two visits. She told me to contact the office manager, Terri. I did, several times, and my calls were never returned. Melissa tried to help as much as she could, but it was out of her control, as well as mine. This back and forth went on for a month and a half, and I just received a call last night from the manager of billing telling me that the additional charge had nothing to do with the UTI, but that, because of the documentation that Dr. Buckingham provided stating that 50 percent or more of my appointment was spent talking about conceiving, I do have to pay the extra office visit fee. Had I known that she was going to charge me for two visits, I would never have talked to her, in depth, about starting a family. I suppose I should not have assumed that was her job! I understand time is money, but the right thing for her to do would have been to tell me that either a) I needed to make another appointment to discuss conceiving or b) let me know that I would be charged for another visit if we continued the conversation. But because of the way that it was handled by Dr. Buckingham, and her staff (excluding Melissa), I definitely will not be a patient of Dr. Buckingham.

I couldn't be more pleased with the care I received from Dr. Buckingham. Being a nurse, I am pretty picky about my health care providers. From day one she has been patient with me, answering all my questions. She takes time to talk to patients and never makes you feel rushed. She is very thorough with her care too. During my hospital stay she did everything she could to avoid a c section for me. Even staying over when she was not on call to help me deliver. She was patient as it took me 4 hours to push. She was encouraging during the whole time. I will always be grateful that she didn't give up on me. Exceptional, above and beyond care.
