Dr. Lisa Anne Catapano, MD

I assume the last reviewer considers Catapano's work in GW Hospital to be irrelevant, because it is Catapano who put up the review. It's hard to imagine a patient would think it irrelevant how a doctor has treated other patients. A student at George Washington University was assaulted in an act of terrorism. The student reported the threats made to other students, and GWU responded by arresting the student and bringing him into the hospital, because it was an employee of the University that was the terrorist (a contractor). They clearly didn't want the story to get out. Dr. Catapano was asked to ruin the student's reputation. She complied with what they were asking, accusing the student of being a terrorist. She called his parents and told them he had just committed an act of terrorism, and she tortured the student until the cops arrived, who had been called by that student. The brutal assault by the doctor left him with permanent physical injuries. After over 10 hours, a lawyer for… the student came and demanded any evidence of his terrorism. With nothing to provide, Catapano was forced to release him, but she still refuses to tell the student's parents that he has not committed an act of terrorism. That last part is the worst. Torturing an innocent student is awful, but leading his parents to believe that he is a terrorist, and then refusing to correct the record, is another level of evil. The student's parents still believe he is a terrorist, because they don't believe a hospital and college would lie. Catapano is evil and dangerous. The other negative reviewers are telling the truth. She puts on a fake face, but don't be fooled. She is the last person in the world you want to trust. For your own good and your family's, stay away.

These past few reviews are strange...she doesn't even work in the hospital. She is an outpatient psychiatrist, and an amazing one at that.

You have probably heard about the assaults at George Washington University Hospital, well Lisa Catapano is the "doctor" who they call on when they want to maim a patient. She commits acts of terror for money. I am someone who has a deep inner working knowledge of the hospital, and believe it is my duty to inform people. Doctors are suppose to be healers, not sadists.

During the entire time I was at GW Hospital, she refused to speak to me. She is a very cold, calculating person who does what she is told to try to make the hospital as much money as possible. She is just a tool who doesn't care if her patients die or live. The doctor wouldn't even look me in the eye. She made me feel like I was in a concentration camp. I don't understand how she could ever be a benefit to anyone. Surely, Dr, Catapano is responsible for the deterioration of many patients' health. Though, that is of course is the goal, because then she can then charge insurance companies more.

Dr. Catapano is one of the most amazing people! She is kind, understanding and truly listens to you. I can't imagine having gotten through the last 5 years without her help.

After clearing the air about needing longer than 15 minute med checks to excahnge information, discuss it & review options, Dr. Catapano turned out to be the most helpful psychiatrist I have ever worked with. She does not, however, pretend to be anyone's psychotherapist, strongly urging her clients & assisting them to find peer-recommended practitioners in the community.

Dr. Catapano ALWAYS makes me feel that I am her only priority during my appointment. I can talk to her very easily because she is a great listener and most importantly to me, I do not feel like she is judging me. It is VERY important to find a psychiatrist you trust and feel comfortable with and for me this is Dr. Catapano

Dr. Catapano has been very helpful and thoroughly explains options, side effects, and theories which I really appreciate. She lets the patient have the final say in how treatment will proceed. She's a bit low-key which may seem like detachment but I've found her to be very concerned and focused on me, always following up and responsive to messages.

May have alot of education, but clearly needs better bedside manner and should actually care about her patients. Her "method" of therapy is to either stare at your blankly or worse yet, say "how does that make you feel" after every sentence that comes out of your mouth. My white walls are a better listener than this woman. Ugh- what a waste of money!
