Dr. Lisa D Erickson, MD

I will first start off by saying Dr. Erickson helped a family I know have children. However, after a decade long journey I am well versed with my primary infertility issue. She was supportive of my ideas around how to move forward... At fest. Until I ran into problems and she wouldn't return a phone call. She also never once looked into a secondary concern that I brought to her attention. She just pushed me into IVF/PGS ($$$). We have coverage so the money wasn't an issue on this end but it sure seemed important on her end. She also, given my history, gave unrealistic expectations for the outcome of IVF. CRM never released my husbands results, sent his lab bill to collections without ever billing us (it was $50 and clearly would have been paid) and then made me jump through hoops when I asked for my records to switch clinics. One appointment at my new clinic and I am set for a saline sono and HSG to investigate my secondary concern before even discussing a treatment plan...if any. If… you are willing to wait an hour plus to meet with her or her staff on your first visit, look forward to a condescending attitude and not be treated as an individual case but rather as dollar sign, she's your doctor.

I wrote a review months ago but it seems to have vanished. I wonder if this review will vanish as well. Dr E presents as a nice enough woman, however I was very disappointed in our experience with her. Obviously, infertility evaluation is a huge investment in time and money. I followed all her recommendations in terms of what tests to have done- even requesting additional tests myself. I had several problematic symptoms beyond just infertility. At our meeting to review results Dr E looked me in the eye and told me "there is NOTHING wrong with you. You'll be pregnant within a year on your own." She then offered me hormones and clomid if I wanted to "speed up" the process. I declined seeing as it didn't make scientific sense to me to take hormones as I'm being told my hormones are normal. I asked her several questions about diagnoses I thought fit with my symptoms. She dismissed them condescendingly. Within months I was diagnosed by another physician with PCOS and Stage 4 (!)… endometriosis. I am glad I persisted in getting actual answers to actual problems versus just being caught in the web of dishonest REs who seem to have a high number of women with "unexplained" infertility. Why don't they work a little harder at finding and treating the cause before they encourage expensive and unnecessary treatments?

I have been seeing Dr. Erickson for just over a year. Her initial recommendation was IVF for us which was a bit of a shocker. She let us have a few rounds of IUI before we came to the conclusion that she was right and IVF was what we needed. Our first cycle of IVF ended before the transfer. But we did get pregnant through IVF with the second try but had an early loss. She continued to tweak our medications throughout the whole process with her and we really feel she was doing everything she could to get us pregnant. We plan to try again with her soon. I have recommended her to my friends!
