Dr. Lisa Anne Garner, MD

Dr. Lisa Garner seemed extremely annoyed as I heard her outside the door of the exam room. She was speaking to her assistant about me and stated that if I had no leisions on my skin, she could not help me. She then bursted into the room where I was sitting and started shouting in a authoritarian manner and gave me little chance to explain my current problem. She said that only if my rash reoccurred for 6 more consecutive weeks, would she then take a biopsy. I told her that my rash was visible over the weekend when her office was closed, and I had to be treated by my family practitioner immediately due to the severity of the rash. I was given medication to stop the rash but the rash reoccurred 3 times. Dr. Garner refused to prescribe any blood tests and dismissed any of my ideas of the cause of my dermatitis, even though I had a past history of severe reactions. I was left helpless and was sorry that I ever went to her office. I am currently seeking a different doctor.

Great communicator and this Dr. is professional as well as friendly. Took time to describe situation and problem area with me. She seems extremely knowledgeable in her field. I am confident she will help resolve my issue.

Lisa Garner came rushing through the door, took a quick look at me and evaluated the information I gave her with a diagnosis of some rare skin disease that is something mostly men can get. I made the appointment for her to give me a thorough exam as it had been a few years and to find out what was causing my itching and my hives breakout. She took some pictures of a couple of areas with moles but did not take any scrapings for biopsy. She said I had a lot of moles but did not appear overly concerned about them. I felt like she was rushing through the entire exam and I felt bad that I was asking her to examine my skin as well as get a diagnosis for itching. She told me to come back in a few months so she could take a look at my skin again when I didn't have the itching as if things would then be more visible to her. I didn't have a rash or even hives that would mask her ability to see everything. I left the office feeling unsatisfied and confused and I will not go back to see… her in a few months, but will go make an appointment with my former doctor though she is much further away.

Never go to this Doctor!!! The people in the front office are terrible and incompetent! I have never been so frustrated! I was referred to Dr. Lisa Garner by my regular Dermatologist for patch testing. I called the office to make an appointment and was told someone would get back to me. After waiting a week i called back, and was told that the Doctor still hadnt reviewed my file and until she gives the ok, i cant make an appointment and they will get back to me. I explained that i needed to have the patch testing completed within the next 2 months before my insurance changed and was told that wouldnt be a problem, so i waited. and waited 10 days later still no call!! I call again, and am told the Doctor finally ok'ed the appointment but they were now scheduling appointments in January!!!! So now over a month after first contacting the office , i have no appointment no patch testing and no apology and under a time crunch because of the wasted time.

Dr. Lisa Gardner is no longer a person I would go to. She is impatient, seems bothered or annoyed by too many questions. Terrible bedside manner.

I have been a patient of Dr.Garner for several years seeing her for an on-going skin cancer .She failed to treat adequately a squamous cell carcinoma.She did not refer me to a MOHS specialist until 3 months ago.She is rude and refused to believe me when I used an ointment on the carcinoma.Since I had observed that the lesion was growing, she finally took a skin sample and it tested positive for skin cancer.As a result I had to have an extensive surgery to remove the cancer.I can't believe that she waited so long to send me to a MOHS surgeon.

Dr. Garner is extremely well thought of nationally and in Dallas - for good reason. Just because she occasionally rushes does not mean that she is not giving you an accurate and thorough diagnosis. If some of her patients are looking for a sub-par doctor who can afford to take an hour with them, look somewhere else. She solved several of my skin problems (and my husband's). She is also a delightful person - somewhat unusual in this profession!

I have been a patient of Dr Lisa Garner for the past 15 years. I have seen her at least 3 times a year for skin cancer treatment and a handful of various other items. She has always been detailed and through with her exams and any procedures I have had to have done. Perhaps, throughout 15 years, there has been the one or two occasions where she was somewhat rushed, but I figure all doctors encounter some days where they simply don't have the time to spend with their patients as they would prefer; perhaps they are squeezing in too many emergency visits that day. There are other dermatologists closer to where I live but I gladly drive 45 minutes to see her. It is worth the time. Consider this, I trust Dr. Lisa Garner with my life; undetected skin cancer will kill you. I would not hesitate to recommend her to anyone.
