Dr. Lisa J Gould, MD

Dr. Gould appears to be overwhelmed by her volume of patients the vast majority of the time. She fails to activley monitor the work of her interns and residents. Dr. Gould may be good at what she does but doesn't seem to have very much time for her patients.

After a long wait, I finally got an appointment with plastic surgery to discuss breast reconstruction. I was initially supposed to see a particular plastic surgeon who came with strong references. When I got to the appointment, I asked about a particular plastic surgeon and was instead routed to Dr. Gould. First, as her previous patient left her examination room, I noticed she rolled her eyes in disgust behind their back. In the next five minutes she bad mouthed her help and critisized another VA plastic surgeon as "inexperienced". Then when I mentioned to her that I was getting my mastectomy done through a general surgeon at the VA she called them incompetent. Her examination was fine as were her explanations but she could not help talking badly about others. It was a total turn-off. In the end, I chose to not have my surgery at the VA. As I left the appointment I could help but feel sorry for an individual who could not muster a single nice thing to say about anyone.
