Dr. Lisa M Jacobs, PhD

This practitioner is too casual and flippant in her approach to psychotherapy. A session feels more like gabbing, not gently and methodically working to heal deep psychological and emotional wounds. (Trauma.) A real therapist is much more aware of the sensitive nature of their role in a patients journey towards psychological well-being.

I was a patient of Dr. Jacobs for almost 3 years and can vouch for her many excellent qualities as professional therapist. In addition to exuding kindness and empathy (while maintaining professional boundaries and never being "chummy"), she was intensely engaged with what I said and remembered details discussed in sessions from weeks and months passed. She does a wonderful job of providing practical feedback including guidance through new ways of thinking, and pragmatic behavioral & emotional steps to help one progress with their goals. In suggesting strategies for accomplishing personal objectives, she draws not only from her vast knowledge of the psychology field but on current research and takeaways from her ongoing participation in conferences and training sessions. She was terrific and I highly respect her!

After a 45 minute session with this person who I was hoping for professional help, I could not have been more disappointed. Pass on this one.
