this doctor ( i say that reluctantly) should do something else other than try to practice medicine. She has no confidence in herself. She can't diagnose anything and always wants to send her patients to someone else who does understand medicine. She needs to just move on to another career. Maybe a lower level position in the medical profession.

This is the worst doctor ever!

most of the 5 star comments on here, have no written review... hmmmm. Being a future primary care provider, all I have to say is she needs a lesson in patient communication if she wants to continute practicing. Honestly, if your reading this, you should consider taking a class dr kenis. You lack empathy and your culturally incompetent. You don't take the time to understand how a patient thinks. You should look up how to do motivational interviewing, this may help your practice. All I can say to anyone who's reading this is to ditch these old doctors set in their ways and get yourself a younger doc who is trained to understand this new culture of patients being advocates for themselves.

So when I called for the first time to make an initial appointment, the receptionist was very rude and careless. Mind you, I was going through a rough time in my life that already made me feel vulnerable. I decided to ignore it and still went in to see the doctor. From reading other reviews, I'm going with the conclusion that she would rather refer you to someone else than handle stuff on her own, which is exactly what she did for me. Looking back I honestly don't mind because the place she referred me to helped so much more than she probably would ever have. Then I had to return a week later, she asked how I was feeling, I told her and she had the nerve to say, "why are you still hung up on this? You have to just get over it." I wanted to break down and cry at that moment and am surprised at myself that I didn't. I didn't know a doctor could be so cold and careless. After that, I felt super uncomfortable and put off going to check ups until I find another that is actually good at… their job. But then last week I needed a copy of my shot records. They never answered the phone, even after I left messages. And the one time someone did answer, she didn't know what she was doing, said she would ask the nurse or whoever and still never was called back. This place is the worse.

Dr. Kenis has always gone out of her way to make sure I get an appointment quickly when I need one, and has gone above and beyond to get me to nearby hospitals for x-rays or urgent lab tests, even going so far as to have Lankenau's security driver come get me when Dr. Kenis felt I should not be driving. She personally escorted me to the vehicle to make sure I made it ok, walking in the rain with me.

This doctor is inept. She should not be practicing as a physician.

I was a patient of Dr. Kenis for several years, when rather unexpectedly, I had one of the worst experiences of my life during an office visit. To this day, I still feel traumatized by the events that occurred with Dr. Kenis. I had seen several highly respected specialists for an ongoing problem, when one of my doctors recommended I also have some additional imaging done, imaging that needed to be ordered by Dr. Kenis. When I arrived for my visit, and I explained the test results that I had received (which she did not bother to review at all), I explained the recommendations of the specialist. What happened next still leaves me dumbfounded. She informed me that the pain I was having was a result of "chronic appendicitis," that had been ongoing for many years. Now, I come from a family of physicians, all of whom have been very present in my medical treatments. I had numerous imaging tests done of my abdomen, none of which revealed any problems with my appendix. I also had zero elevated… white count, and zero vomiting, and not to mention, that untreated appendicitis results in death. As I sat in disbelief at this truly unfounded assessment, I told her that she could review all of the finding in the radiology reports, and see for herself that I did not have "chronic appendicitis." She informed me that ALL the doctors involved were wrong, and that they did not know to check for "chronic appendicitis," the way that she did. The hubris and incompetence of a doctor to ignore multiple test results in order to placate her own giant ego is baffling. She then told me she refused to order any tests, and that if I wanted help, then I would have to find it an emergency room. My appointment was on the morning of a massive snowstorm, and I told her that I could not go to the ER for a non-emergency in the middle of the snowstorm. I told her that I would be trapped in the ER, and no one would be able to take care of my dog. And here is where Dr. Kenis abandoned all decency both as a professional and as a human-being. In a very patronizing voice, she asked me how I could live in the area for as long as I did, and that I didn't have a single friend who I could ask for help. And as I began sobbing, she informed me of how sad my life was. Please keep in mind, I had just spent the past four years caring for my ailing mother, who passed away from cancer just a few months before this traumatic, horrific visit with Dr. Kenis--a fact she absolutely was aware of. I attempted to regain some of my dignity. Through my tears, I informed Dr. Kenis that she had crossed all lines of professional decorum, that she was cruel, and that she was a bully. I also informed her that she was more interested in entertaining her massive ego than she was in authentically caring for the well-being, safety, and health of her patients. All I can say to anyone who is thinking about seeing this horrible doctor is, please be your own advocate, and never let any physician violate your rights as patient, and as a human-being. For anyone who was wondering, I was informed by another physician that I in fact did NOT have any appendicitis of any kind.

On my initial visit with Dr Kenis she ordered prompt testing for what she considered a " suspicious lump" The tests showed no lump. Dr. Kenis refused to accept these results insisting that she had definitely felt a lump and that she was referring me to a specialist. When I questioned the necessity of this she stated that she probably couldn't treat a patient who wouldn't follow her instructions; so, we have parted ways! The emotional stress and anxiety caused by the entire experience were horrible. FYI: Since that visit, another doctor of mine, during my annual check-up, has verified the accuracy of the tests. : : The emotional stress and anxiety caused by this entire experience were horrible.
