At one of my father's last appointments with this provider, my mother brought up some memory concerns the family had observed. The doctor conducted a brief screening—around 10 minutes—and concluded there was nothing to worry about. I attended the following visit to help provide more context, hoping for a more thorough evaluation. However, the same quick assessment was repeated, and our concerns were again dismissed. It wasn’t until we firmly advocated for a referral that she reluctantly provided one. The neurologist we saw shortly after diagnosed my father with Mild Cognitive Impairment, and two years later, Alzheimer's. We chose to seek care elsewhere after that experience.
