Dr. Lisa S Mogelnicki, MD

Dr. Mogelnicki took all the time required to discuss my issues and explain my options. First step was receiving a steroid shot in my worst foot. Within hours, my pain level had dropped to almost nothing. I went from barely being able to tolerate being on my feet to walking around almost normally. I'm very grateful to her and her staff. I wish I had made the appointment sooner. Highly recommend Dr. Mogelnicki.

Dr. Mogelnicki has a great personality - very friendly and put me at ease. After x-rays she said that I had 2 metatarsals rubbing against a nerve and suggested steroid shots. Ok, sure, never had them but worth a try. Except that the resulting pain was 5xs worse than I had already!! Oh my heavens, the pain! For 10 nights I honestly got almost no sleep due to the pain. When I called the office, I was told, "Oh, that can happen, that's a steroid flare and can last a month." A month??? Are you kidding? The treatment is worse than the problem? And the Dr didn't mention this ?? She also subscribed a new anti-inflamatory that is not any more effective from what I had been taking, yet costs six times more. When I asked the office about the pain caused from the 'steroid flare' she told me just to take tylenol. Got my bill today. It's not outrageous but I am canceling further appointments. Again, I really liked the Dr but she did nothing to make my condition better, in fact, temporarily made it… worse. oh, one more thing: she suggested that maybe I had a nerve something or other - can't remember - and if I would be willing to do a nerve test. Ok, sure, I said, but what does that mean if I have that condition? She responded, "well, there's not much that can be done but at least we'll know" She didn't really think that was my problem but "wanted to rule it out." Turns out the nerve test is an EMG - an expensive long procedure. Yeah, no, not doing that. Just feels too much like the medical system keeping each other's pockets lined. Luckily my only problem is foot cramps. After seeing her, I believe these cramps may be due to hormones and menopause. If you have a serious problem, she may be the right doctor for you and you'll like her. But for me, not helpful at all.
