Dr. Lisa Park

Lisa Park, MD is an Associate Professor of Ophthalmology at Columbia University Medical Center and an Attending Ophthalmologist at New York-Presbyterian Hospital. Dr. Park is an accomplished cataract surgeon with a flourishing practice on the west side at the Robert Burch Family Eye Center. Prior to joining Columbia, Dr. Park was the Associate Director of Residency Training at NYU for 11 years, where she taught and mentored over 70 ophthalmology residents and pioneered the use of virtual surgery simulation in residency training. At the same time, she was Chief of Ophthalmology at Bellevue Hospital where she was selected "Doctor of the Year" in 2007. She was also co-host of "The Ophthalmology Show," on Sirius XM's Doctor Radio channel for five years. Dr. Park has published over fifty book chapters, journal articles and research abstracts on various aspects of cataract surgery, including the "Lens & Cataract" chapter for the Basic and Clinical Science Course published by the American …Academy of Ophthalmology. Her interests include global ophthalmology, and she travels regularly to Guatemala and Ethiopia to teach and perform humanitarian eye surgery for the blind in developing countries. Dr. Park received her undergraduate degree from Harvard College and her medical degree from Yale School of Medicine. She completed her residency training at NYU and a fellowship in anterior segment and refractive surgery at Manhattan Eye, Ear & Throat Hospital. Her philosophy is that no two eyes are the same, and her objective is to meet each individual's visual needs.
