Dr. Lisa B Weissmann, MD

Dr. Weissman handled my care after my PCP, two radiologists, and a breast surgeon at Mt. Auburn all failed to detect breast cancer in a thickened area of breast tissue I had been pointing out to them for a year. Needless to say, I was distraught when a mammogram finally hinted that I had been right about my suspicions all along and the MRI (which they should have taken much sooner if they had listened to me) revealed invasive ductal carcinoma. Dr. Weissman stepped into what was a distressing situation and helped me look forward so I could do what needed to be done. She explained the treatment plan and encouraged me to get a second opinion. She said second opinions help her make sure she is giving the best advice possible. When the oncologist at Dana Farber insisted I use a drug that is highly cardio toxic (long term) but has no greater efficacy than the TCHP regimen I wanted (again, data shows same efficacy) I returned to Dr. Weissman confident that I was getting the best care. I… did leave Mt Auburn to have my surgery and radiation at MGH, due to the mistakes the other Mt Auburn doctors had made. So glad I could have chemo with such a great doctor though.

Lisa Weissman is one of the most compassionate physicians I have ever worked with. She has handled my diagnosis and treatment with utmost compassion and makes me feel personally cared for. Everyone of her staff is also excellent.

Dr. Weissmann is a very caring, and extremely competent oncologist. I would highly recommend her to anyone.

I fired my first 2 oncologists at a major hospital in Boston when my GP gave me Dr. Weissman's name. She returned my call before I was even her patient and gave me advice about the cancer med I was on (which I did become her patient afterward). She is straight forward and let's the patient take control. I highly recommend her.

I just looked up Dr. Weissman because her husband has a very cold oncologist. I went to her for a second opinion on CLL, and she was informative and reassuring.
