Dr. Lisa Laycock Willett, MD

Dr. Willett, no longer has her own practice, she is part of the UAB TH-3 inpatient care team. This is the BEST healthcare team I have EVER HAD, and that is saying ALOT! I have had doctors from around the world, care for me over the past 20 years, due to a vast array of medical diagnosis.. And due to my complicated, and very in depth heatlth issues, it has been a huge struggle in the past to find one group of doctors to competently, treat each diagnosis that I have. I met Dr. Willett on the fourth day of my in hospital stay, and she came in, and competently, and compassionately, explained to myself and to my husband, the situation that I am facing, and has done so everyday, since I have been here.. On the last day of my stay, she came in a spoke to me, and at the end she grasped my hands in hers, and she compassionately looked at me and spoke with such confidence and strength but with a light in her eyes and warmth in her heart that almost moved me to tears, about how she knows how… much I have struggled over the years, just from partial past medical records she had read, but she told me not to give up and to continue to be a fighter, and she would love to see me again at UAB, but only if it is for pleasantries and general good health check ups .. Not as an inpatient . .. Words cannot express, how necessary this was for someone like me to hear.... She knew exactly what to say, at exactly the right time, each time we spoke to her.. Her compassion and understanding, and willingness to listen was extremely refreshing in this new medical age of, "get 'em, get 'em out" healthcare , where in the past, I have found myself asking whether, my doctors, ever really cared or tried to understand, how I really felt. So my hat goes off, to Dr. Willett and her team, Dr. Moore, and Dr. Dib, the TH-3 team at UAB Hospital!! God Bless All of you!!

Had the most difficult times in scheduling an appointment with the secretary and having her answer the phone when I called. Went to the emergency room 5 straight days for high blood pressure do to no appointment. Was prescribed a medication that was too strong and landed me in the hospital for 5 days. We then received a letter from this doctor indicating she was no longer seeing patients, which is not true. We did change physicians.

I've been a patient of Dr. Willett for years...and feel blessed to be so fortunate! She is so caring and sensitive to my curiosity...taking the time to anticipate my concerns, allow me time to ask any stupid question I can think of and even allows me to participate in treatment plans. I couldn't be more satisfied and pray that she continues practice here until the time of my timely or untimely demise!!
