Dr. Lisa Marie York

My child was sick for over two months with no treatment after several doctor visits and numerous tests. I was referred to Dr. York by my insurance company when I stated to them that every day the child woke with this threatening condition, I would take them to the ER for treatment (since they weren't receiving it from the doctor the insurance company forced me to see). Dr. York examined the child, diagnosed, prescribed a single medication, and the next day the child was 50% better and all symptoms were gone within 72 hours. She has since been our Doctor for 16 years and I have even had loved ones fly in from out of state to seek treatment from her.

When you set an appt. they call you when it is time to come in, she often runs behind on appts. To follow up on that it is because she does care and will spend every second needed with you without rushing to a next patient! I found that very comforting and amazing in this day and age. She is a friendly and very good doctor I would recommend her to anyone looking for a new Dr. or for a second opinion!

It's no wonder her practice is in jeopardy. She is about as competent at treating patients as she is paying her bills. She's a physician and her rent is low yet she's facing eviction? Laughable yet appropriate.

Two years ago the wait to see the Doctor was 2-3 hours. My last wait time was 5 hours!!! This is rude to the patients and the staff.

She lets nothing slip by.I have had other docs that see me within ten minutes of my appointment, but they only spend 5 minutes with me and only take care of one problem per visit. I hate that kind of doc.She may not be a doctor for everyone but she is the very best family doc I have ever had! I love everything about her and her practice! I would never change doctors!

I agree this physician would never make it in a larger area where people have choices. After seeing her twice I've decided to travel to Phoenix for care. It will honestly take as much time to travel than to wait in her office. She doesn't seem to have a grasp of anything beyond the most basic of medical conditions. She asks the same questions repeatedly as if she's not sure where to go next with her evaluation. Either that or she's just not listening. She seems to enjoy hearing herself speak. I don't need humor and uncomfortable smiles at the bedside. I need a competent professional.

I don't think she could make it in a big city where people have choices. She's adequate at best and has bad breath

I saw Dr York for about two years. She was thorough in her examination but it takes 1 to three hours to get to see the doctor even with a appointment made weeks prior. She is prone to just doing what my previous doctor had done which did not cure my medical condition. Her staff has a high turn over rate and some were very rude. She had one great older nurse that was one of the best nurses i had ever come in contact with. Overall i would not recommend Dr. Lisa York as your MD. She lives in a small town and works approximately 15 miles north of this town in a smaller SMALL town because of an incident at a multi Doctor practice. I never found out what she was Accused of but it was enough to get her fired. So she opened her own practice in a even smaller town. She seems to have a lot of patients and that could account for her consistent habit of being 1 to 3 hours after you sign in for your appointment. She was very thorough in her exams but more often than not treated my common illness… with the exact same medications that my previous DR had prescribed. I think that she is fairly weak as a diagnostician and is very conservative in her approach to my medical issues. She has a reputation (as this is a small community ) as being a so so DR. All in All i would never recommend her for the reasons stated above. I have since found another DR that took a new approach to my illness and so far has cured my illness with different medications and now my repetitive illness is gone and has not recurred in the last 4 years. So i am basing my comments on 2 years of Dr Lisa York being my DR. It took only two months for my new doctor to totally cure my illness. That is what you should expect from a decent MD.

I took my mother in to see Dr. York for the first and last time this past fall. After waiting for an hour and 15 minutes she rushed through the appointment and dismissed most of what my mother said with a condescending nod.It was obvious she was not listening.Her hands were cold, not gloved and she has a strange way about her.Worst bed side manner I have had the misfortune of witnessing.This coming from a nurse who works primarily in nursing homes!
