Dr. Lisha Cathleen Barre, MD

Dr. Barre is the most caring doctor for her knowledge and procedures, bed side manor, we need more doctors like her, she is only doctor that helps me with pain, without her pain not tolerable.

I've been seeing Dr. Barre for a couple of years now, monthly. She helped me manage chronic pain without narcotics and she truly cares about my well being. I highly recommend her.

Yes, I had office visit today, and have been seeing Dr. Barre for years now, I highly, highly recommend her, she is very caring and helps me tremendously, always easy to get appointments, , she has never prescribed and prescriptions, I am t am not seeing her for any thing but neuropathy, not prescriptions as I don't take anything. It helps me, everyone there in office has been very good.

Dr. Barre is a anti opioid doctor. I suffer from major back pain and tried to go thru her holistic approach but never worked. Even though the pain continued. Prescribed Viccodin once thinking I was taking them cause most of her clients come to her addicted to opioids...but found out I was not addicted and refused to proscribe them even though we had tried some dry needling and trigger point injections and some marijuana and none of it helped. Her receptionist always comes across angry, mad, or grumpy. I am a low income client and my transportation can be unreliable and today was my 2nd time of calling and having to reschedule but ended up canceling after being told I'd be charged $75 for not rescheduling the appointment in more then 24 hours. The first time was due to a death in the family and the 2nd one was because my daughter was coming home for the holiday from college 3 hours away and her ride bailed on her and could not stay at school or they would charge her $200 a week for a… month and was my ride to the doctor and was at least called as soon as they opened. I thought this was a office of understanding and cared about their client over money and was proved wrong today. Oh forgot to mention that this was the first appointment in 3 months cause the doc was not sure how to help me and would have probably ended up either waiting another 3 months or leaving her service. DO NOT GO TO THIS DOCTOR!

Dr. Barre has been a grace from God! I suffered from 14 years on pain pills for a number of problems. The worst being sciatica nerve pain with a lupus on my back I was told i would always have by orthopedic specialists if I didn't have surgery. After just 2 visits, it's completely gone! No surgery required! I'm in the same boat with that one lady ...grandparent, on disability for several reasons, chronic problems. After 14yrs on medications I just wanted off. Was told I'd go through withdraw pain, but with prayers & lifestyle changes I didnt even need suboxone meds. Dr.Barre has been a true blessing - there's been times I just want to see her because she's so much better than my psych doctors , even though she's a pain specialist! I'd recommend her to everyone in a heartbeat!

I was very nervous for my first appt. I was surprisingly relieved at the optimism of this bundle of energy and her encouraging words. Also amazed at the amount of time spent with me, NEVER have I had a Doctor so generous and thorough with her time. I have had Fibromyalgia, severe migraines and "numerous" painful physical and even psychological traumas for decades, to the point where I was just existing off of extreme amounts of narcotic medications. Although it was a battle to get my Primary Doctor to agree with me that I wanted OFF these pills, I am SO happy I pursued it on my own and found Dr. Barre on my own. I wanted my life back. With 4 children, 3 grandchildren, life was just passing me by in a blur. The withdrawals I dreaded never happened. Dr. Barre knew from my first visit how much my Christian faith means to me and has been so respectful from day one, even thinking about then deciding, no, certain treatments might not fit well with my spiritual beliefs. Never has she… belittled me for my faith, she encourages it. I have had my ups and downs mostly because of ongoing unavoidable stressors and traumatic events with my family. She goes beyond a physical Doctor and helps to ease even my emotional state. I find her office assistant, Michelle, of the same quality, so willing to answer and help with insurance questions and any little trouble, always so quick to respond and always kind and patient. My insurance does not cover everything, I live off a very small disability right now and I have never been pushed to over extend my budget therefore easing another of my main concerns. It will be one year on Oct. 17, 2013 that I took my last pain pill. I have honestly never looked back, I am so happy to have that burden off my back. I will have my days of life's ups and downs, that is only natural for everyone, but I am learning more about myself and even the people in my life that I have the right to choose, or not, to open the door to. That includes the medical field that I've come to realize just being a Doctor does not mean someone is automatically going to do right by you. We are all human beings and a Title does not automatically make you a better person with special rights to be rude. After dealing with Dr. Barre this last year I have a new set of standards for "anyone" I choose to have access to my life, from Doctors to people of every walk of life even family, friends and fellow "Believers", we all deserve respect, compassion and honesty even when it means we may have to swallow our pride sometimes and listen to our own wrong choices. We have the right to agree or disagree without being insulted unless it is for our own good. Well that about sums it up for me right now, I'm looking forward to my next appt. in a few days with my Doctor and I will take the liberty of saying friend. I know Dr. Barre does not as a "habit" like to read profiles, with good reason I agree in general (I would hate to see what random people in my life would say about me!) but if by chance you do Dr. Barre or Michelle, Thank You from the bottom of my heart. By the way, a great sense of humor is always a plus, laughter is a great medicine, something I have been missing way too long.

Dr. Barre has given joy of life back to me. I suffer from chronic pancreatitis and have been taking prescribed narcotics for nearly 15 years. I was taking up to 800 milligrams of OxyContin a day and was still having a lot of pain. I wanted to be done with the narcotics and, especially, the pain. Dr. Barre prescribed Suboxone which apparently helps you get off of opiates almost immediately. Unfortunately, I was allergic to the Suboxone. Dr. Barre and I decided that a long, slow taper would be the best way for me to go. Today I will taper down to 320 milligrams. I was on 340 for about a month. Like I said, it's a slow process-down about 20 milligrams every two or three weeks. To control the pain, Dr. Barre injects me with a pain medication (no narcotics and no steroids in my syringe) and vitamin B12. There are no words to describe how much better it makes me feel! My energy level is 500% higher and I told her I almost feel high after getting them. She explained that they are… stimulating my endorphins. My family and friends have even noticed the difference! Her assistant, Michelle, can handle any insurance problem and is amazing, also. I truly hope that anybody who truly wants to get better goes to see Dr. Barre. Be perfectly honest with her because she can't help you if she doesn't know whats going on. She won't judge you or cut you off cold turkey or make you go straight to rehab. Let her work her magic and you will be feeling better in no time. It's the best think you can do for yourself and those who love you.

Dr Barre changed the way I think about my pain - what caused it, what works to treat it, what that pain really is (or is NOT). Amazing. CHANGED MY LIFE!

Dr Barre was very knowledgable about my condition, she spent an hour with me on my first visit I never felt rushed. She takes more of an eastern medicine type approach instead of just prescribing another drug I highly recommend Dr Barre

Dr. Barre is a fabulous doctor. She understands that a "pill" doesn't fix everything. Dr. Barre treats the entire body, not just the symptoms. She is progressive, enlightened and sincerely caring. If you truly want to feel better, see Dr. Barre and listen to what she asks you to do.
