Dr. Richard Lloyd Cope, MD

Dr. Cope is always pleasent and attentive to your needs. Would highly recommend him. Relocated from New Jersey it's been hard to find good doctors.

After suffering daily for some time, I contacted Dr. Cope. 6 Months now since hip replacement and I’m clocking over 15,000 steps a day with ease and feeling perfect. Very compassionate and skilled surgeon.

As a non-resident, I was very nervous about seeing anyone other than my own orthopedic specialist. After a few minutes with Dr. Cope, I was perfectly at ease. While extremely professional, he was friendly, kind and compassionate. I appreciated that his first concern was to listen to me and have the appropriate test done to determine the problem. He called me personally, despite his hectic schedule, to discuss the results. He assured me that no surgery was necessary and that he would be available whenever I needed him when I had an eventual flare up. I feel so fortunate to have found a Florida orthopedic surgeon I can rely on and trust as much as I do my doctor at home. I would be remiss if I did not acknowledge his efficient, thoughtful, and caring staff. They make everything work so well!

I had both knees replaced with Dr. Cope at Holy Cross. Not only was the doctor and his staff beyond reproach, but the hospital and nurses were excellent as well! The only thing that I am sorry about is that Dr. Cope will be retired in 20 years when I need to have the knees replaced again.

I saw Dr. Cope for the first time a few days ago. It was a memorable experience because Dr. Cope listened very thoughtfully to all my concerns and showed concern for the debilitating pain I was suffering with. I found him to be extremely knowledgeable and thoughtful. He actually fully answered ALL of my questions and then treated my symptoms immediately to the extent that I am pain free. I was far from that when I came into his office. I give him the highest of marks for his concern, compassion, understanding and knowledge. Although I may be a surgical candidate, I am grateful that he did not push that option on me and was grateful that he took a conservative approach in treating my condition,

I had a broken knee and injured foot and saw Dr. Cope after being referred from a trauma center. First of all, he was quite angry that I was there "as an acute patient" claiming he had a 6 week waiting list. ????what the heck????. Then he only viewed 1 xray of my knee and 1 xray of my foot with a glance and never even touched my knee or foot or looked at them. Never asked about my pain or need for med's. After only 2 minutes at best seeing me, he sent in someone to give me an immobilizer. Also, I could hear him yelling at the appointment setter/staff about why I was given an appointment at all Turns out my foot WAS injured and I should not have been walking on it. Just an awful experience. Find another Ortho. I should also mention that the appointment staff was very professional and kind.

I was very impressed with the entire experience. Dr. Cope and his staff were outstanding. Dr. Cope,s bedside manner and diagnostic skills were impressive. My Mom at 86 was completely relaxed.Thanks
