Lon Abney, MD

Lon Eddie Abney, MD, is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, nuclear cardiology and cardiovascular CT. He believes that health care is a collaborative effort and that his role is to help patients fully understand their conditions and make informed decisions based on their personal goals and values. Dr. Abney received his bachelor's degree in philosophy from the University of North Texas and his medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine in Florida. He completed his internal medicine residency through the Dell School of Medicine at the University of Texas in Austin where he was also chief resident. Dr. Abney completed his cardiovascular disease fellowship at the University of Tennessee Medical Center. Outside of work, Dr. Abney enjoys hiking, skiing, reading, travel and spending time with his friends, family and dogs.
