This is a highly unethical dentist. I was experiencing no pain or problems with my two metal fillings, and he advised that we replace them anyway. At no time did he tell me there was a chance that this procedure could result in pain, suffering, need for a root canal, and loss of a tooth. In fact, this practice is somewhat controversial in dental circles. I talked to many endodontists and general dentists (AFTER HE TOOK MY FILLINGS OUT) who said that even if there is a problem, they encourage patients to leave the filling in, if possible. NEVER to remove them for no reason. Polverari also chose to file my upper teeth on our third visit, to get the newly installed fillings / bite to feel better, and I was told this is completely unorthodox and in the endodontistâ??s opinion, somewhat reckless. When I needed a root canal, Polverari didn't even tell me himself, his secretary got on the phone and said I shouldn't come back to him, that I needed an endodontist and a root canal. I… was SHOCKED. I believe Polverari's dentistry that has caused so many problems, many visits, pain, and he did not properly receive my consent for this unnecessary procedure.
