Dr. Lonnie Richard Empey, DO

He is by far the worst doctor I have ever encountered. My mother-in-law was brought to the ER and had the misfortune of getting him as her MD. She had aspiration pneumonia and the so called MD did not treat her appropriately. I am an RN in NY and had to fly out to Las Vegas get the CEO on the phone the Patient Rep had to get involved and he was thrown off her case. He was the worst of the worst. He lied, he ignorned phone calls, and most importantly was not treating my mother-in-law for her pneumonia. No antibiotics were given she was left in a bed for several days as she deteriorated. Thank God she is a strong woman and once we got out there and involved we were able to get her out of that horrible situation and she is doing well back home. Do not put anyone you love in this mans care. He is an egotistical person who thinks because he is a doctor he is above everyone. Do not go to this MD. My mother- in-laws friend called him Dr EMPTY because he is void of any caring!

He was great when he practiced in Mesquite. Wish he'd come back!

Getting an appt. was easy. Maybe because word has gotten out about this doctor, who in my opinion, is anything but! I was first "interviewed" by his "understudy" who later listened to my heart, looked in my eyes, ears, and throat. When the doctor came in, I showed him my past blood work, told him I was there for my Medicare Wellness annual. He did nothing but order the blood work I requested. No exam, no questions about overall concerns, health, etc., except my "biggest" concern, which was separate from pelvic exam, pap, breast, etc., all the things I get on a "yearly" exam. Nothing. Total time spent with me may have been 7 minutes. He said he would call when the blood work came back. He didn't. After a week and a half, my husband called the office, just to find out the blood work was there and no follow-up was needed. I am angry. I have no idea how long the blood work sat in that office, nor if he would have eventually called. I picked up the blood work immediately. … Although he said no further visits were necessary, my results have no less than 6 items in the "high" and "low" ranges. One of the "highs" has been considered a factor in the skin condition I am dealing with, but yet he ignored it. I EXPECTED that he would at least have wanted to discuss the meaning of this blood work with me to interpret the results and ease any concerns I have. He did not. I also had a urinalysis, which was not attached to the blood work and have no idea if that was done. I will end up paying for this visit and now feel as if I must see another physician to do what this one should have done in the first place.

he thinks with his influence in the medical field here in Mesquite, he can do now wrong, since he is on the board of medicine and is protected from any complains since he the judge and jury. He does not take it oath seriously. He judges patients by their wealth and not health to help all who needs the help. this I have from first hand experience and from other in Mesquite Nevada

I thought my vet had a better bedside manner, but he was accurate solving my problem.
