Dr. Loren Alexan Fefer, MD

Personable, Knowledgeable, Respectful, Easy Recovery...

I would never recommend Dr. Fefer. I have IBS, some fecal incontinence and bad hemorrhoids. It is controlling my life.. He just told me to take Imonium before I ate anything. It constipates me so bad I can't go for a week, then I explode. He had no sympathy and just laughed at me when I asked to be referred to someone about my hemorrhoids and fecal incontinence. He said you don't want to have that surgery, but I know there are methods of shrinking them. He is very insensitive.

I went in for an upper endoscopy and colonoscopy. Dr. Fefer was very friendly and informative on the details (and possible risks) of the procedures before I had them. His nurse staff was also very friendly and professional. I was under twilight sedation for both procedures. Everything went great except for a short burping episode I had during the upper endoscopy. I felt great afterward. Slight sore throat, but other than that no pain or any problems!

I moved here from NC and needed a new GI doctor. As usual the doctor always asks why are you here? Went through my story of how I've been feeling for the last year but he constantly interrupted me. Then he finally said there's nothing wrong with you, you just have IBS. I informed him that was ruled out by a doctor at UNC. Now, this is the first time I ever met him or talked with him and he already has a diagnoses without examining me or doing tests. Dr. Fefer just had this smirk on his face while telling me to just deal with it and he knows everything because he's a doctor. I was in complete shock with how he was treating me and I began to cry. Dr. Fefer then went on to say, See now you're crying, you must me depressed. That's when my husband you was sitting behind him said, "That's enough!! We're leaving and don't even try to bill us for this appointment. You didn't even listen to her or let her tell you what symptoms shes been suffering from!" I would never want anyone… to go through this. Dr. Fefer is very insensitive and has no compassion at all.

This doctor could have easily been replaced with a robot to perform the procedure he did, and the robot would have been more informative. In fact, I d ...
