I use to be a patient normally you can go there when no insurance, now I have insurance but would have stayed. It's hard to get an appointment, sometimes long waits (its a free clinic) the need is very high in this town, so of course the wait can be long. I fear doctors and procedures but not here they go out of their way to help you with other services if needed. They even have free medicine in some cases. I was almost 400 lbs. Was not made uncomfortable about my wiegh. However, she has a grant for a special weight loss program there is nothing like it around here and it is free if u have no insurance perhaps your friend miss understood and didn't realize she may have been probing to see if your friend might be a canadate for the program. My wife a nurse also saw her and is considering donating some time to them perhaps you can too and help with the very things you complain about she is a great knowledgeable doctor who I would love in my corner evertime

Myneice is unable to get health insurance d/t her wages. So, she went to the free clinic for treatment. While at the clinic the doctor commented on her weight, by asking her if she was a grazer or a gorger. WOW. so surprise this dr is allowed to practice. I in all my nursing career have never heard a dr talk to a patient in that manner. This needs addessed as some people do have weight problems and this could have been handled in a more delicate way.
