Dr. Lori Millicent Dyer, MD

Please get a second opinion if you see this doctor. She said my 2 month old son needed surgery because he had a hydrocele (fluid in sac). Her explanation was confusing & lengthy and she said it wouldn't go away on its own but was adamant about operating within 2 weeks. Well, I got a second opinion & the second dr did a sonogram (which dr dyer didn't do) and he said it looks like a closed hydrocele & should go away on its own. Soon enough the bulge disappeared 2wks later! Very upset with dr Dyer.

Dr Dyer was very pleasant but kept referring to my son as she. She persisted in endorsing surgery for my son even though I expressed my desire to hear about all options. I didn;t think she was listening to me

I’m shocked Dr. Dyer doesn’t have a 5-Star rating, but I suppose experiences are different. Our experience was great- Resolved what was expected to be a 2-surgery issue in 1 surgery. While not overly warm & fuzzy, she’s helpful, informative, honest, and answers all questions. I’m in awe of her skill. We had no crazy charges nor minimum age as other reviewers mentioned. Perhaps that varies based on diagnosis and/or insurance? Overall, we highly recommend!

MD asked me if my boy has mental illness.(when the truth was my boy won’t stop crying and was cranky because he was scared).

Why bother making an appointment? The wait time was insane. The office is dirty and they have signs telling you to not throw diapers in the garbage. Dr rewrapped baby in soiled diaper and sent us on our way.

Dr. Dyer might be a good Dr. but her fees are unreasonable. For a 10 minute appt she charged us close to $400.00, one of my car payments. Where do they pull these numbers from? Out of a hat? Because surely, she didn't do $400.00 worth of consult.

My family has full insurance but this doctor has a very strange policy that will not take infants under a certain age (even though she is a pediatrician - go figure!). None of these details were told to us on the phone and we only learned about it when we drove 25 minutes to their office. They are incredibly unprofessional and truly give doctors a bad name. Stay away!

She diagnosed the problem right away and is solving it! We have seen 2 other doctors over almost a 2 year period who had no clue what the problem was.
