She's undeserving of her degree. I believe she herself posted the 5 star review unless there's a person who appreciates receiving a dollop of emotional abuse while they are seeking help. A Troll of a human being and doctor

Best break through with my bi-polar

Dr. Schweickert has the compassion of a slug. While she is good at diagnosis and her knowledge of medication is fantastic, she is a harsh and cold person. Considering the field she is in I believe it would benefit a patient more if they were not talked down to and told they were abnormal. At the least, maybe consider the person she is treating and tailor words appropriately. We spent months with her and while the meds she recommended were so helpful, going for an office visit with her filled us with such dread we stopped going to her....this is a shame.

We have seen Dr. Schweikert for some time now and have finally had the final straw. She is very unkind and has absolutely no compassion. While she has been described as a "realist and doesn't sugar coat things" in my opinion she is down right mean. My child has co-occuring disorders and has held up well with her comments while in her office. For a child that was suicidal and hospitalized, I don't think it is proper to tell the child "you are not right and we are going to make you normal". REALLY? That was just horrible for us as a family. We had to talk to my child after the appointment to assure him he is awesome and we just need some help. We let him know that she was just not the right fit for us and frankly we didn't like the way she handled things. When my husband and I tried to talk to her about the way things were phrased to him (and us) she was pretty darn mean in her words and accused us of not being on board with treatment. She had me crying in the her office and my… husband beyond angry. She also seemed smug with this result. The one thing I will give her is that she is extremely prompt at returning e mails and phone calls, especially in emergencies. I cannot take my child to her anymore. She really makes you feel like a horrible person, both for the patient and parent. Compassion is greatly needed in a field like this and she just is severely lacking. If I could give zero stars for bedside manner and overall rating I would. Please consider finding a different psychiatrist.

Dr. Schweickert does not understand autism and was less than helpful with my son when I took him to her for therapy. He picked a toy from a shelf in her office without asking permission and she said, "I am not even going to speak to him about asking permission because he can't do any better." This conclusion without ever trying to establish the boundaries for his conduct in her office - he had been in play therpy with other doctors who encouraged to pick up toys at his discretion. He can understand and respect boundaries when they are clearly established. This incident - together with her general condescension was enough to make me look elsewhere for quality therapy for him child.

She once told me about addiction, and it puzzled me. I told her it must be how people like to feel in control and eat too much, with a lack of discipline. SHE Needs the therapy , not her patients. Everything bad in your life seems better after listening and observing her..... Fyi she has been disciplined many times by the board of psychiatry. A joke of a dr!!!!!!

Dr Schweickert is a horrible psychiatrist and a mean, hateful, unsympathetic person. She is condescending and spiteful. Do not take your children to see her. She will make them cry and be afraid. She will make you wish you never meet her or listened to her - she will make you feel CRAZY!

Dr. Schweickert is amazing. She is a well trained professional who takes her work seriously and is very dedicated. On mutiple occassions she went out of her regular office hours to help me and my family. I saw the most improvement personally when I was in her care than with any other profesisonal. I highly recommend Dr. Schweickert due to her genuine concern for her patients and excellent knowledge of real world solutions for those seeking help in the mental health arena.
