Dr. Skallerud graduated from St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota and went on to earn her medical degree at Rush Medical College. After completing her residency at the University of Minnesota, Dr. Skallerud served as Chief Resident of Pediatrics. Dr. Skallerud joined Southdale Pediatric Associates, Ltd. in 1997 as a full-time pediatrician. Dr. Skallerud sees patients in the Edina office location. Her special interest includes seeing patients of all ages.

Dr Skallerud is calming, relatable, knowledgeable and caring. I feel so comfortable with her, and my 12 year old daughter LOVES her. We would trust her with the care of any of our children and recommend her to everyone we know with kids.

With three kids, one who is a cancer survivor we have worked with many doctors in all specialties and Dr. Skallerud is absolutely Amazing. Several physicians have been nervous to discuss our middle son, now 10 years old who has a long list of difficult to understand issues. Dr. Skallerud has never been intimidated or acted over confident, just a true collaborator, taking in information and offering ideas, potential solutions and all the time discussing pros and cons in a compassionate and caring way. She is absolutely brilliant and gives you the time necessary to find the solution. I am grateful to have found her!

She's amazing - we have a 19 year old and a 14 year old and she has been their doctor since they were babies. She reads, reads, reads and you would be hard pressed to find a medical topic she hasn't read about extensively. I've always felt like she has taken her time to really think through problems and she is very mindful and in the moment when she spends time with you and your child. Seriously, you'll feel like you are watching someone do the profession they were absolutely born to do. I often leave feeling pretty sad that she can't be my doctor too!

My 3 kids have all seen her since they were born and I have had nothing but excellent care!! Smart, competent, a parent who understands parents and kids are not perfect. Really talks to my kids and they listen!,

My three children see Dr. Skallerud. Two of them have special health care needs, and we came to her after having a very unsatisfactory experience with our previous family practitioner. She is very professional, practical, knowledgeable, and always takes her time with us when we come in. We also love that Southdale Peds has extended hours and a nurse advice line, plus free parking and very short waiting time. We feel like she knows our family and has been so helpful in some stressful situations. We just love her.
