Dr. Lori Willinghurst, MD

So she's moved again, this time to Hardware Drive NE? That makes about 3 times that she's moved her office in the past 10 years. What a fruitcake! She should just buy a van and work out of that, and sell burritos and tacos on the side.

What is remarkable is that Lori Willinghurst, MD is oblivious to the fact that her patients have given her about the lowest score that a physician can receive on this website: a score of 2 out of 5 stars. Willinghurst is so out of touch that this means nothing to her. She is oblivious to the fact the people see her as someone with problems and that she is perceived as someone who has something seriously wrong with her. That is, a person who is screwed up, and so screwed up that she does not even know it.

She's an a**hole.

Totally incompetent clinician. She has no business being in this field. She has zero knowledge on trauma informed care. She is not a trauma informed provider. We never addressed my trauma nor was she concerned about it. Egregious. She focuses on diagnosing and labeling you, making you your diagnosis, dehumanizing your human experience, and treating with endless medication. She then gaslights her own patients when medications don't work. The process with her is not collaborative. She is very arrogant. My experience with her was harmful. I would hardly call what she does "psychotherapy" I would call it head nodding and smoke and mirrors for $200+ She is uncompassionate and uninformed. She did more harm to me and caused more issues than before I came to her.

If you think Dr. Willinghurst is subpar and/or ditzy or simply a poor doctor, then what you should do is to send her a request for all of your medical records. Send this request by some traceable manner… via email or via USPS Priority Mail (which allows you to verify delivery online). The doctor (i.e. Dr. Willinghurst) will have a time limit within which she has to get these records to you after receipt of your request. (I believe it is 30 days.) What you will find in your records will quite possibly surprise or even astonish you. These records are typically electronically filed by a private psychiatrist using electronic health records software and simply require the doctor to printout these records. Your records request should include: *Your name; Your Social Security number; Your date of birth *Your address and phone number and where you want your records to be sent *Dates of service and a list of records you need (i.e. “all of my medical records”) *Include the statement that… you are “willing to pay any reasonable expense incurred in getting these records to you.” *Your signature Any failure to comply with your records request can then, likely, be the basis for a federal HIPAA complaint.

A dangerously stupid individual. If she were in any other specialty than psychiatry she would have lost her license to practice or been sued out of practice a long time ago.

The more critical reviews on this site also reflect my own experience. I can't recommend this doctor. She seems depressed-- just take a look at the way she runs her office-- but that's immaterial when it comes to how patient care is handled. There aren't a lot of psychiatrists in ABQ to choose from but I would hold out for someone besides Dr. Willinghurst if you want a sensitive and informed practitioner who isn't just full of a load of personal biases and a clunky business model.

I’ve been seeing Dr Willinghurst for a couple of years now and have been through a lot of big life changes that have effected my Anxiety and ADHD and she has been great at finding medications and medication alternatives depending on what issues I was having at the time. I feel very safe talking with Dr Willinghurst about my issues and leave each appointment knowing that despite my issues I can live a normal and happy life. Upon reading other comments left by other patients and their experiences, I want to say that Dr Willinghurst is very professional and personable and I have never had a single issue with her.

She fixed my problem immediately and very simply with the correct medication. She's really good. She did the same for my daughter.

What I like about Dr. Willinghurst is how she has a way of letting me pay with my MasterCard by using a thing that she puts on her cell phone. That way you don't have to carry cash and it's nice to have that for her patients. Also that she is always there when I have an appointment so I don't have to wait or anything like that. I never had to come back because she wasn't there and that's a plus. Her medication is always accurate on the dose so the pharmacy prescription filler never has to ask how much or what medication she wants me to take. That all means a good thing all around.
