Lorie Hughes, MD

Dr. Hughes serves as a radiation oncologist and director of the Harris Radiation Therapy Center. Prior to joining Gordon Hospital, she served as a radiation oncologist for The Hope Center in Cartersville, as well as at Wellstar Kennestone Hospital in Marietta. Dr. Hughes is a graduate of SMU and the Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta. After graduation, she completed an internship at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston and residency training in radiation oncology at the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, also in Houston. She has been board-certified since 1990 and has received numerous honors and awards. She is a member of the American Society of Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology and the American Society of Clinical Oncology. as well as many other organizations(delete). Her background also includes teaching credentials, lectureships, and visiting professorships. She is a native of Atlanta, Ga and has three grown children. She enjoys dance, sewing, and …gardening.
