Dr. Lorna G Mccollum Pinson, MD

I have been seeing this provider for 14 years, since I was 12 years old. She may seem a bit aloof at times but she is very open minded and caring. I am comfortable talking to her about any little detail and I enjoy my visits.

Dr. Pinson has always spent enough time with me to answer any questions I have and to explain any medical procedures or tests. She has really listened to me and doesn't just prescribe pills without trying physical therapy or exercise first. She was better able to explain a test result and reassure me than the specialist I was referred to. She and her staff have always treated me courteously. She has also made sure I follow up on immunizations and various tests.

I went for an initial appointment and to talk about another issue I've been having. Dr Pinson was extremely rude, showed no emotion and act as if she either didn't understand what I was explaining to her or otherwise just didn't care. However, she did order me to have labs done which I appreciate so I can make sure to rule out anything serious. The staff are okay, kind of sloppy. Dr pinson also doesn't explain what's going on very well. I left the office more confused then I did when I went in. I wouldn't recommend her and probably wot return after all of my labs are complete and the results come in. Not a good experience

I had to change doctors as I was accepted for medicaid. I found Dr. Pinson. I read the reviews, and was skeptical. I had a great doctor before I had to change. The first time I went, I felt uncomfortable. I felt as if I was just a number. Since I was a new patient, Dr. Pinson ordered blood work, and a few other tests. The office called me back with the results, quickly. I was able to ask questions of the nurse in the office. She seems knowledgeable. After reading other reviews, I can see how others view her as not having a good bedside manner. I truly would prefer a doctor who was a little more personable. However, if she knows what she is doing, and I can ask her questions then, I am okay. I was seen within a few minutes of my appointment time. I have waited over 1/2 hour for other doctors. THAT is unacceptable. The staff was cordial. Overall, I am satisfied.

Awful experience. Was looking to switch for her to be my primary and she spent all but 5 minutes with me. Did not ask questions, was rude, and I left, untreated and cant return for a month.

I like Dr Pinson. I don't need a physician show sugar coats anything, I appreciate someone who'll relate to me my medical condition exactly as they see it. I don't need hand holding, and this is the type of physician I want to have taking care of me. She is knowledgeable, kind, and caring.

She has very little knowledge of hypothyroidism.

DR.Pinson does NOT take the time to care for her pt's she treats you like a number instead of a person never will touch you for routine check ups I went there for a upset stomach and she just put me on some zantac when I really needed a upper GI and surgery,and this was not the first miss Diagnosis !!! Can someone please say lawsuit!!

Regarding Follow-ups- She has you make your follow-ups so if you forget or choose not to follow-up there is no reminder from doctor office.Regardin Bedside Manner: Doesn't appear to be the caring and nuturing type of doctor. She does the job she is paid to do, she doesn't show emotion. I guess that could be good, at least she is not faking that she is really concerned.

She is good and on top of all issues. I would go to her anytime!!
