Dr. Lorraine Yuk Hoon Chun, MD

My first appointment with her was during my pregnancy with my daughter. She was very friendly and straightforward and seemed knowledgeable in her field. I had questions on a few things and she did listen to my questions and answered them for me, most of them being answered with confirmations of what I was already thinking, and the first visit went well, though she did seem like she was in a bit of a hurry, but they said they were behind that day. The second visit was about a week before my delivery and with that one she was still very friendly, but didn’t tell me anything I didn’t already know, and the questions I had about how the delivery would go were answered rather vaguely, and it was unclear who would be delivering me since I had originally been with a midwife but they moved me to dr.Chun since my baby was going to be induced early as high-risk (she was small and no longer growing properly) and again she seemed to be in a hurry, and they said they were behind that day. The third… visit at my 6-week postpartum appointment she was friendly and asked about my plans for birth control and even offered to put through a prescription for me, and ordered me 3 months worth at once which was awesome. What I didn’t find out until later on however was that she did NOT discuss something very important with me. I was pumping breastmilk to feed at the time and in the birth control discussion she failed to tell me that birth control containing estrogen would slow down or even stop my milk supply. I didn’t find out until 6 weeks later when I read about it in an article while looking up something else entirely. If I had known that tidbit, I would have looked into other birth control options. Why she didn’t tell me that even when she was aware I was breastfeeding/pumping, I don’t even know. I had such a stressful time because my milk supply suddenly stopped and the only formula my daughter is able to handle was out of stock just about everywhere, so I had a couple days where I wasn’t quite sure what I was going to feed her (thank goodness for a friend who found some out of town and brought it to me). I also later on found out that there were several things she failed to discuss with me that I should have been made aware of. Not happy at all about that, now I have to strictly formula feed in the middle of a formula shortage because of her lack of information (I don’t have anything against formula feeding, just that I was doing well with pumping beforehand and didn’t plan to strictly formula feed). Will not be using her for any future pregnancies.

She’s cold and condescending. No bedside manner whatsoever. Blew my concerns off. Which were found to be true. I received a second opinion. Very rough painful exam. Just research her malpractice suit in Nevada. You will be horrified. Run from this woman.

Dr. Chun is one of the most wonderful doctors I’ve ever had. She is warm, caring, and reassuring. She was my OB through two of my pregnancies, plus a miscarriage. She was compassionate, got me in right away, and always took my concerns seriously. I felt like she was a friend, and was so sad to see her move to California. She also cared for my mother-in-law, who loved her too. She is an amazing doctor, who clearly loves what she does. You will be pleased with her!

Dr. Chun was the on call dr. She was amazing and adhered to our birth plan, including allowing my husband to catch our baby. We had a quick delivery and she made it amazing. Definitely glad she was there when we delivered our little one.

I had her as my doctor she is very very caring she is blunt but I love her she is the most Dedicated doctor that I have came across.

Dr. Chun is amazing! She is so upbeat and caring. She took the anxiety out of every appointment. She is real with you and doesn’t candy coat, which I love. She kept me involved every step of the way which is something i unfortunately didn’t have with my previous OB/GYN. I love her and her office staff! They’re the best!

I am beyond happy with the service that Dr. Chun provided my husband and I throughout the pregnancy and birth of our son. She was always helpful, professional and guided us along our journey as soon to be first time parents. She took the time to ease our minds with any questions, comments and concerns we had about the health of our baby. I experienced extreme panic and anxiety the days leading up to our son's birth and she was able to help keep me focused, and as calm as I could be at that point. I cannot say enough good things about our experience with her. I was seriously sad when we had our son because I knew it meant we wouldn't be getting to see her often. If you are not connected with anybody, I highly recommend her. -Morgan, Jacob and baby Oliver.

My first birth was a failure of induction, so I knew I wanted to find a VBAC supportive provider. Dr. Chun accepted me as a new patient at almost 30 weeks, and was the most supportive and encouraging doctor I could’ve found. She took the time to get to know me and heard my voice and all of my concerns. She also went through every lab and test result with me. She never pressured me into anything unnecessary and I know she had mine and my babies safety at heart. Can’t thank her enough!

She was my Dr. Several years ago. She was rude, got angry or offended when i asked any questions. She honestly seemed unballanced to me. One minute smiling, then nasty. She missed several things that another obgyn had to do surgurey for. I suffered needlesly because she convinced me "it was all in my head" and i was fine" I WAS NOT FINE, the tests showed i was not fine, but she said they were wrong, "nothing to worry about" it was rush in, rush painfully through the exam, no time for more than one or two very quick questions, brisk answers if any... or "your fine"!

If I could give ZERO stars.. I would. My daughter was recommended to her due to high risk pregnancy because she has Lupus. My daughter has always been active and in good shape but 6 months into her pregnancy she started complaining of severe back pain, groin pain, leg pain. She could not even walk. Her leg looked as if it was going to explode because of the swelling. Having worked in the medical field myself for over 20 years & 3 children of my own... I knew this was not just a "typical" back pain associated with pregnancy. My daughter called the office to speak to the nurse and they basically told her to "chill out" it was normal to experience this. After about an hour of her crying, not being able to move.. I called the office and insisted she be seen. I took her in and had to use a wheel chair to get her in the office. Dr. Chun did not even look at her leg, or touch her. Told her to use a heating pad and she should be fine. I was furious... and worried. I worked… for an orthopedic surgeon at the time and because he new I was worried.. he looked at her that afternoon and ordered an ultrasound right away. They did not even let her leave the hospital and admitted her with 7 blood clots from her calf to her groin. They told her she was "lucky" as another day she may not have been with us. Her baby ended up being delivered 8 weeks early and only 2.5 lbs because the placenta had clotted and the baby was not receiving nutrition. long story short... Do not go to this doctor. This was 5 years ago and we still have not gotten over this. An orthopedic surgeon basically saved her life when it should have been her high risk pregnancy doctor??? really???
