I will never forget going to this Dr. years ago. I’m Bipolar and she prescribed a few drugs for me. A month later I told her that they were causing weight gain, which is very common with Bipolar drugs. Strangely, It made her angry and she lashed out at me. She also hissed that she was going to charge me more because I stayed over an hour. I was too shocked to notice. I paid her and after I left, I cried. To this day, I will never understand her rage. Needless to say, I found another Charleston psychiatrist and she saved my life.

Dr. Dustan is the most awesome psychiatrist in Charleston & the surrounding areas. I have been a long term patient of Dr. Dustan starting therapy with multiple psychiatric diagnoses. I'm happy to say now that because of the wonderful treatment I received from Dr. Dustan I am now able to live a much healthier and happier life. Dr. Dustan is the most sincere, compassionate and caring psychiatrist you could have. She is very intelligent and an expert in forming an accurate diagnosis. Dr. Dustan is also a expert in prescribing medication to her patients. She is diverse in treating several different psychiatric disorders. Dr. Dustan gave me a treasured gift I will always cherish. She gave me my life back.

I have seen a couple therapists and Dr. Dustan is far and away the best of the bunch. I have no idea where the 1 star reviewer is coming from, she may have Lorraine Dustan confused with another Doctor.

Dr. Lorraine Dustan is a very compassionate, intelligent, dedicated, and caring professional. She is a full time psychiatrist (9-5), Monday-Friday doing talk or psychotherapy and not just prescribing medications after 15 minutes. She gets to know you on multiple levels and has been instrumental in helping me improve my quality of life with a brittle illness. It's interesting to imagine what it would be like to sit, stay present, and help one pt. after another (with serious mental health issues) as she has dedicated herself to doing for years. She is a jewel and has been so instrumental in helping me function as a healthier, more stable partner, family person, mother, and professional. Cudos to you Dr. Dustan.
