The manner in which the initial endoscopy observations were presented to us immediately after the procedure was incredibly insensitive. He rushedly came over to us (after showing up 15 minutes late for the procedure) stating that he thought he knew what was going on and matter-of-factly threw the medical term at us. I had to ask him to explain what the condition is that he was referring to, to which the response was very direct and insensitive "precursor to cancer". He moved right along without skipping a beat stating that we need biopsy results to confirm, meanwhile, we were in shock at the statement. Thankfully the same day surgery nurses were there to calm our worries and let us know that many Americans have the condition and it's only a matter of diagnosing and managing it in order to prevent the likelihood of cancer developing. A much calmer and less worrisome way to explain it, that's for sure. Original endoscopy results appointment was scheduled for two weeks after the… procedure at 11:45. We received a phone call to reschedule for same day at 1pm. Showed up 10 minutes early and receptionist said that we just had to wait for the doctor to show up to the office and they'll get us right in. 30 minutes later, no call, no show from doctor. We requested that the test results be sent to us instead so we could return to work. The office has no scanner to be able to scan/email us the results. Fax or snail mail only. This day in age it is absurd to wait over two weeks for a results conversation only to have the doctor not show up and then be told the consultation notes would have to be mailed to us. We will be seeking a second opinion from another doctor who I'm sure will have respect for his patients time, never mind the anxiety that comes along with biopsy result uncertainty.

Excellent would recommend to all my family and friends

There are a lot of good things to say about this office. His staff were very kind and sensitive to my fear of having a colonoscopy (at only 18). They accommodated my schedule being a college student at the time out of state and did a consult followed by scheduling the colonoscopy for the following day. The doctor spent plenty of time with me discussing my symptoms and I did feel listened to, however, a few snide comments in regards to a religious necklace I was wearing were made and combined with the fact that his office is absolutely plastered with pictures of him with the Pope... I felt very uncomfortable but had to go through with the testing. One of the hospital nurses that I confided in about my apprehension told me not to worry because he was very good at what he does- but that he also has gotten onto a few of the nurses over their divorces so she knows how I felt and offered to stay with me the whole time. I was discharged from the hospital while still having blackouts. He did… call later to discuss my test results in a very prompt fashion... but I was NOT told that I needed a follow up colonoscopy within a year due to poor prep and the discovery of polyps. It was 5 years later that this was discovered in my records while I was pregnant! With a family history of colon cancer, I was terrified. Subsequent colonoscopy? No polyps... I would not go back to this doctor. I felt far too uncomfortable... and we're talking about something that happened almost a decade ago!!
