Dr. Louis John Dalessandro, DO

I will not continue seeing this provider. During my first visit, he insultingly chuckled while I was going over my problems and history. When I asked him what was so funny. He replied to me that it was something that I said earlier. When I asked what that was, he said he couldn't recall. He is an arrogant doctor with a rude nurse. They are not good communicators nor do I believe they are good at what they do. If he was a good doctor, I would excuse his arrogance. Another unpleasant experience was with the nurse. Dr. Dalessandro asked for some imaging copies which I provided. His nurse contacted me and said she needed to know the facility to request the reports. He got an attitude with me when I explained those are the disc that I provided earlier. In summary, I would just say avoid this doctor if possible. Time between appointments is too long (first appointment took months and follow ups are scheduled months in advance). After my first visit, I suspected I will need… another rheumatologist. Without cancelling yet, I started seeing another rheumatologist. I have had better treatment and experiences at Integrative Rheumatology in East Charlotte. I was seen within a week of contact and a follow up was scheduled within two weeks. I am getting much better care somewhere else. I have had so many tests already done and will have two more done. And to tie this back to Dr. Dalessandro's office, I wonder when these tests would have been done... after how many visits and months? Again, don't see Dr. Dalessandro and beware of Emily (his nurse). This office fails to communicate effectively and lacks technical competency.

Dr D is wonderful! He takes time and listens and answers all your questions. He generally cares about you and what you're going through. You might have to wait past your appt time, because he does take time with each patient.

I have never had a clear understanding of what I have or what to expect. My paperwork has been "forgotten" & I've had to wait to get refills on my medicine because of this. He's a very funny & nice guy but that doesn't help when your in pain & don't know what to expect.

Enjoyed him personally and professionally. He did not treat me like I was an idiot so I will continue w/him for OA, RA & Fibro Doc. As a new patient he spent a lot of time w/me and listened to my laundry list of complaints w/empathy.

I am usually not an easy person to please but they are wonderful

Had my family dr. make an appt. for me in August. As a new patient I was going to have to wait 4 months for an appt. I was then called saying that the schedule had been changed....Dr. D'Alessandro wasn't seeing new patients until January-6 months later....really? thanks for wasting 2 months of my time and still in pain....

Does not act like he cares about your problem at all...

Dr. Dalessandro recently was assigned infusion patients from his former partner. Instead of looking at what patients needed, he treated them as red-headed stepchildren; infusion treatment was given without adequate follow-up, ie. labs, follow-up appt to monitor treatment. From time of 1st infusion to offered follow-up appt was 5.5 months with no plan for monitoring in the interim. Inexcusable! Apathetic care!
