Dr. Louis Fernand Fabre, MD

Dr Fabre is the one that has ever taken the time to actually pay attention to my issues and is the only one to really create a plan that gotten me to a place that I can manage my conditions. If anyone gives him less than 5 stars then they probably wanted a magic pill or secret weapon and weren’t willing to take the time and do the work it takes to actually get better. It’s almost always a long road, one I’ve been traveling for decades, and Dr Fabre was an excellent guide. He knows more about medications for psychiatric conditions than anyone on the planet and knows how to use them to get results. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND DR. FABRE!

Had my initial visit, he asked me to tell him why I was there, spent 5 minutes listening then asked me if I knew who he was and went on a long speech about himself. Did not ask my history,current medications,told me all my providers were wrong, the issue I went to see him for was incorrect and non existent and went on to prescribe me a very strong combination of medications for a very specific diagnosis that takes significant time to diagnose, not a 5 minute conversation and 3 questions. I told him I could not take those meds during work,he told me I would be fine and they would not make me tired. I work in a hospital, I know Pharmaceuticals and I know what he was trying to prescribe me.

Excellent doc and teacher. Teaches the patient how to manage their issues. Uses least med amount for efficacy. Skills honed in 40+ years exp. Dedicated and straight shooter. Dr. Fabre has 0 influence on office staff~~~I've observed office morons since 2013. Alamo Medical Clinic staff condescends and patronizes patients. Office culture is the direct reflection of treatment by a boss.

My son was misdiagnosed with Schizophrenia and placed on medication. The medication made him a hollow log. He had no emotions, no feeling, numbness all over. He could barely walk and was a struggle to put one foot ahead of the other and could not sleep at all. When the refill was issued, the symptoms got worse. He stopped taking the medication and reported to Dr. Fabre. Fabre told him not to take it and scheduled an appointment. He had been a week off the meds when he saw Fabre and he was coherent, could cry, laugh, and walk. He's been sleeping at night with only the occasional waking to urinate or get a snack. He actually feels hunger now. Dr. Fabre is working to find the solution and feels he was definitely not schizophrenic. Most of all, during the session, he turned to me and asked, "Mom, do you have anything to contribute?" NO ONE had asked us - his parents - one thing up to this point!. This young man has always been successful, above average IQ, holds down a $70K plus job for 9… years, very responsible, very friendly, everyone who meets him loves him and suddenly six months ago he began to slip into what seems to be anxiety or stress mode. With the help of Dr. Fabre and the staff there and the direction from the good Lord above, we will find a solution.

As soon as I met him he listened to all my concerns and history. Dr Fabre was right on point, recognized and was honest how different combinations of medicine could help or to try something new. Also he is always prompt and the girls at the front office have always been very nice!!

Dr Faber know his stuff he got me on the right medication to help me get the sleep I needed. No waking up after 6 or 7 hours of sleep with the side effects of your medication.

I love the fact he does not try to over medicate you and will work with you to find the lowest dosages of the combinations of medications you need. Also if you have any ill side effects like I had hair loss he has no problem switching medication until he gets you on the right combination.

My son is a patient of Dr. Fabre. He has been the best thing that has happened to our family. We were desperate when we first came to see him. He was able to finally give us an accurate diagnosis and help us with medication. He never stops working with us. He is the best on medication distribution and is straight to the point. What he might lack in bedside manner he makes up for in knowledge and professionalism. By the time we saw him I just wanted to know the truth. I don't need all the frills just the truth and help. He gave us both and finally I have the son I always knew was in there. Thank you Dr. Fabre.

This doc knows his stuff. If you've been from doctor to doctor looking for the right combination of meds to help you through whatever your psychiatric problem is, then this is the man to have on your side. I wish I had met him 15 years ago. He's no-nonsense and to-the-point. You can be in and out of a follow-up appointment in under 5 minutes (if nothing new is going on with you). He may come across a little gruff but he really does care about his patients. He doesn't "make up" stupid appointments for you to come in just so he'll make more money. The office where he resides has horrible clerical staff but don't let that dissuade you. He's worth the drive and the wait.
