Dr. Louis Chao-I Ho, DO

Dr. Louis Ho is the most unstable, disrespectful and unprofessional provider I have ever encountered in the medical field. DO NOT ENTRUST your health or your loved ones health to him. Not only is he negligent with his medical care follow ups but he is also extremely abusive in his treatment of patients when he is uncomfortable with their requests. His behavior is grotesque and I am shocked beyond belief by what just transpired in his office. It all started when I made a follow up call to the office on behalf of my elderly mother who was hit by a semi truck and is still badly injured. We needed a medical note notating her injuries and urgent referrals for additional imaging and psychotherapy. I was rudely advised by Michelle that the doctor was never able to speak outside of an appointment. I explained that the situation was very delicate but she was dismissive, rude and lacked absolute empathy for my mothers health. I suppose Dr. Louis Ho's practice doesn't care about the state of his… patients when he is not being paid. Her physical therapist advised us he could not begin full treatment due to her continued swelling, pain, and numbness of her head, fingers, and toes. He advised additional imaging was needed. With that advise in mind, we stopped by the office to request an appointment to speak to Dr. Ho directly via a telehealth appointment, an email or a phone call since an in person appointment wasnt available for weeks. Upon arrival, his office staff informed him of our urgent request. Staff member Kayla stated that the doctor would not schedule a virtual or phone appointment and that we could write an email to their general inbox and if the Dr. had time, he would respond. She also stated that the Dr. advised we could "go somewhere else" if we had a problem with that. I was baffled by the attitude and I could not believe the Dr. would respond this way. As I explained that we really needed communication, she rolled her eyes. The lack of respect and empathy from this medical practice is truly disgusting. As she threw a card with their general email on the counter, I suddenly heard heavy, loud, footsteps and a look of fear on Kayla's face when the front door swung open. Dr. Louis Ho slammed the door open and started screaming at me while physically imposing his large frame over me. This was done in front of his staff while he had another patient in a waiting room. He began yelling, "Why are you here?!!! Get out of here!!! This is a private practice!! I told you to leave!!! I don't have the time!! Why are you bothering my staff?!!!." I could not believe the level of aggression and abusive speech as I too was his patient. Mind you no one was yelling before him, slamming doors or asking us to leave. I advised him that i was going to start recording his verbal abuse and he ran off yelling "discharge her!!!." This Dr.'s solution was to scream and leave my mother without medical care because his ego is bigger than his ethics. As his patient, and as an advocate for my mother's health, I have a right to request follow up and appropriate health care from her PCP without being threatened. Furthermore, as a woman, much smaller than him, this persons behavior was horrible and scary. Dr. Ho, I dont know if abuse and uncontrollable screaming is normal to you but you should know that is unacceptable, reportable behavior. You are supposed to be a professional and those type of grotesque outbursts are not indicative of someone who should be a medical provider serving the public. I suggest you acquire some professional etiquette and respect for others. Having a medical license doesn't give you a free pass to be entitled or abusive. The way you treat people matters more than any business or degree you might have. I hope you learn to be a better human because as a doctor you are awful and you are failing your patients.
