Dr. Louis James Kraus, MD

He is a very good man. He’s helpful, cares about people. He’s not out to hurt anyone and wants to help people. In my book if everyone started from that intent that’s all anyone can ask for.

Unfortunately, I am in agreement with many of these reviews. Dr. Kraus is pleasant to speak with, however he should not be doing custody evaluations. 20k for his "services", and the first meeting he brings up the bad reviews stating that he leaves them since typically they are from the losing party. Sessions seemed fine with Dr. Kraus, but as he was writing his report, he started asking basic questions we reviewed several times. The report came out and it could have been written by a 5th grader. Grammar errors throughout, names of people wrong, mountains of evidence and paperwork just completely ignored, and countered everything Dr. Kraus led me to believe were the issues he also had seen. The most damaging part of Dr. Kraus' involvement and report was a simple phrase indicating that there was no findings of abuse. For anyone who has gone through any abuse, this statement minimizing your experience is completely negligent from a professional, in particular one who did not contact… witnesses provided and ignored text messages and photos of "no abuse". If you have any say, please avoid this man. He is yet another court "professional" that is really harming people that need support. I do not understand how these professionals live with the lives they are destroying.

Do not go to this doctor. Please look elsewhere. Incompetent and insensitive. Motivated by money not patient care.

Why has this doctor received so many bad reviews? He is greedy and thoughtless

I am not sure how this man is still able to be in practice. He is a crook and if your retainer with him says 20k, be prepared that is what you are going to pay. He has the worst case of "God Complex" I have ever seen in a medical professional and I use the term professional lightly with him. I must have had 6 or 7 meetings with him about my children and case. There wasn't a meeting where he didn't find a way to bring up sex wether it was talking about my past and current sex life with my ex and new partner. No matter how many times I tried to skate it and just talk in generalities, he would always press for more info. I was never comfortable being alone with him in his office and I always was with his door closed. He always lost his notes, his train of thought and if I had to hear him talk about him self and hear him try to diagnose a medical issue that had nothing to do with therapy, I was going to pull my hair out. He made my kids horribly uncomfortable. My son said after his… one and only meeting with Kraus that he didn't like him at all and that he was scared of him, mind you he spent 20 minutes with my son and that was what my son's impression was. because he was simply WORNG each time. His note taking, if you can call it that was a joke, he was a mess, disorganized and admitted to losing one of his black files for our case, he eventually found it later in the process but still. His report was a mess, he mixed up dates, events that my ex told him Kraus said I told him and vise versa. He made a comment about a family member, who was deceased, had never meet and used a single piece of info to draw a horrible untrue statement but yet made it in his report. He is horribly unethical and I would be willing to bet he has me too'd a woman or two in his career. RUN if he gets appointed... it won't end well for anyone and will cost you nothing but more time, money and grief.

We saw him a loooooong while back when we were struggling with a child with autism. His answer was to try everything medication possible. Some helped, some didn't. When a particular medication REALLY took my child down a terrible path, where was he? No where to be found. Wouldn't answer the emergency calls we placed to his pager. Six hours had gone by. I'm sorry, but for a professional to not answer calls regarding psychiatric meds and dealing with antipsychotic medications, etc, that's NOT a caring doctor. Steer clear.

Dr. Kraus has provided our family with the best possible care with a down to earth, personal approach.

Dr Louis Kraus is a crook. Do not use him for custody cases. He will say anything for the attorney paying his fees. He should lose his license.

This man is a complete moron and doesn't care about the best interests of children involved in custody cases. Stay away, he couldn't be any worse.
