Dr. Louis Michael Marmon, MD

Our son was born early and very small so we decided to wait on his circumcision. Dr. Marmon's office was able to squeeze us in for a circumcision before he turned 2 months (so it was done with local anesthesia only). From our initial visit to our follow-up, Dr. Marmon was a consummate professional and addressed all of our concerns. The circumcision itself went very well and the post-op instructions were clear and thorough. We were worried going in because we knew a couple families who needed revisions for their sons, but we felt very comfortable with Dr. Marmon. As someone in healthcare myself, I recommend Dr. Marmon both for his clinical skill as well as his bedside manner. He is succinct but thorough and overall speaks of strong competence. I would recommend him to anyone who needed a doctor for a circumcision and I suspect that his strengths transfer to other areas/procedures as well.

I’m not sure how he has so many positive reviews when my experience has been absolutely horrible. The lack of communication between provider to office staff to parent is dangerously subpar. I’ve visited the office twice and both times Dr. Marmon failed to mention that my son will need clearances from anesthesia and neurosurgery, but he wrote it in his note. I asked him about it and he said it’s fine and that he’ll contact those specialties directly and discuss my son’s case. I had nothing to worry about, so I thought. So my son was scheduled for surgery today; however, it was cancelled last minute. The only way I found out about the cancellation was after several phone calls. Smh. Two days ago I called and the office staff told me everything was good to go and someone will call me the day before surgery to inform of a time. That call never happened.

Dr. Marmon did an excellent job on my child's appendectomy but when I called for a follow-up appointment I found it impossible to schedule an appointment. They only do follow-ups for 30 to 45 minutes a day, several days a week. If they don't have room for you on those days you can wait weeks. The staff was totally unprofessional when I had difficulty getting my child in during their brief follow-up times. In fact, I think that the receptionist actually hung up on me when I was trying to have her help me find a time to get my child in. She made it sound like it was no big deal to bring my child in any time soon even though Dr. Marmon said my child should be seen 6-7 days after their surgery. Clearly, from the other reviews on this website it should be evident that the office staff needs to be taught better customer service, but perhaps no one cares.

I am very disappointed by the staff at his office. It's always automated answering machine and after leaving several messages, no one called me back! Very frustrating, they are not professional at all! I'v never expeienced such terrible service.

Dr. Marmon is incredibly smart, thorough, and skilled. His surgical results speak for themselves. I also found him to be very caring, and very careful to make sure we understood everything that was happening.

Our son required specialty treatment and our pediatrician, Dr. Jay Bernstein, recommended Dr. Marmon. We found Dr. Marmon to be very personable, knowledgeable, and attentive and assuaging of our concerns. I was apprehensive after reading these reviews, but am glad I chose to experience Dr. Marmon for myself. I know everyone has their own experiences, so I feel compelled to share mine. We were able to get an appointment with no trouble ( I even had to cancel and reschedule) and did not receive any negativity. The office cared when I tried to make the appointment around naps and being home to get other children off the school bus. They did their best to help me! Surgery went great (much faster than expected) and everyone at Childrens Hospital Center were very nice (I was even late to arrive on the day of surgery because of traffic on 270 and rain). My child came out well from everything so much so that the next day you never would have known just had surgery. When calling to make the follow-up appt, I did receive the recorded answering machine which states you had to call back for routine things, such as appointments, but if there is an emergency, someone is on call. So, I did have to… call back to make the appointment, but that was not a problem to do. You could even ask the office at what times are best to call to reach someone to amke appointments, so you won't have to worry about the possibility of not reaching someone. It wasn't an issue for me because I made sure to call that same day (and then called back the next). It would be worrisome though if you wait until a day before you are supposed to have the follow-up visit.

We had no idea what complications might arise because of poor informed consent. And they did. He has a wonderful non-nurse, non-physician assistant. If it were not for her I would be much angrier. Would not use again.

I continuously received the "no one is aviable to take your call" message when I called around the clock for 7 straight days. My son just had surgery and he needs a follow up appointment.......and no one will answer you cant leave a message. Good luck future patients.
