Dr. Louis Ernest Probst, MD

Dr Probst performed my Lasik in the early 2000's, in the Oakbrook office, suburban Chicago. I was nearsighted with strong astigmatism and had agonized for several years over whether or not to have any procedure because I was scared. He was recommended by my ophthalmologist. Prior to any surgery, he informed me that I would probably need a second procedure to resolve my astigmatism, and I was ok with that. The first procedure resolved all nearsightedness and most of the astigmatism; the second procedure, a year later, gave me crystal clear vision. All these years later I still marvel at my distance vision as I drive down the road, watch a concert, whatever. There is nothing like seeing simple things like bricks in the wall across the road, or the crispness of street signs, when you could not see those things before. I recall that he is up front when advising of what to expect and how much it will cost. It's not cheap, but beware of the places that are. This is your vision,… probably the most precious of the senses. I see that he has many more references, publications and such since I saw him. Check all of that out. You can't go wrong with this guy.
