Dr. Louis F Taglia JR., DDS

Beware!!! In order to cut down on our expenses of our fixed income we decided to leave our dentist in River Forest who was out of network according to the Blue Cross Blue Shield Dental Insurance . We looked on BCBSIL's website for dental providers in our plan and this office was one of the offices in network. So my husband had some work done this year in the Taglia office. Some of the work was done by Taglia Jr and some was done by the other Louis Taglia, SR. I am enclosing the list of providers per BCBSIL's website and the claims for both of us during 2018 in which I downloaded today. Suzanne, the billing administrator, quoted Harry the cost of the different services and he paid for them at the time of service. A little while later, we received a bill for uncovered services of which I paid. At that time I did not question the charges and just paid the extra charges. When it came time for me to have my teeth cleaned, I, too, came in to the office. Like Harry, Suzanne quoted me… the cost of the services for replacing fillings of which I paid. The cost she quoted me was an in network cost. Then a few weeks later I received a bill. I was puzzled by the bill so I called Suzanne and she sent me the EOB from Blue Cross. Then I called Blue Cross questioning the uncovered charges and a representative told me that the dentist was out of network hence the reason for the extra charge. I was perplexed and upset by this news. I diligently went on the website to check out providers to minimize the cost of dental work. This office should not be listed there if no dentist there offers services at in-network prices. I did talk to Blue Cross last week and they told me I had no recourse because the services were given by Louis Taglia Jr and not Louis Taglia. This information is very misleading and I would say deceptive. Someone in the office should have told me that one dentist (Louis Taglia, Sr) who no longer practices is in network and the other dentist who has the same name is out of network. I would not have gone to this office had I known. I really liked my former dentist and only left because he was out of network. So my advice to anyone looking for a dentist: check out diligently whether or not they are in network in your insurance plan. Also, I believe Dr. Taglia, Jr looks for additional work that needs to be done. I went in for a cleaning and he wanted to replace 4 fillings. I only did two because it would have been an extra 1,000.

Great job as usual, love this place and my family has been going here for years. We will continue to go here for years to come also.
