I was a patient of Dr.Tietlebaum about 7 years ago, and found him to be a genuine caring doctor that really helped me durning a very difficult time in my life. He was always very professional aswell as caring! By far the most unethical and unprofessional doctor I have ever met. He accepted me as his patient( in his words) "Out of the goodness of my heart" although my mother was also a patient of his at the time. He would frequently take calls from her describing my "mania" and write prescriptions for me based solely on those descriptions and disregarding my account completely. When I would relate to him my symptoms, all side effects of the medication (i.e. lack of concentration, feeling tired all the time) he would prescribe more medication for me- at one point he was injecting shots into my buttocks so I couldn't refuse the medication, another idea he got from my mom. He would tell me that all I needed to be happy was a boyfriend, and he tried to set me up with another patient in his office, giving the man my cell phone number. When I began to see a psychologist I realized that this medication was ruining my life, so I gradually stopped taking it, I then told Dr. Teitelbaum of my decision… and he warned me that I would " spin out of control and be in a hospital by the end of the week". He also called me on my cell phone at a late hour of the night explaining that my father expressed that I was acting "manic", I asked my father and he told me he had never said that. I have been off any form of psychiatric medication for the past 7 months, I received straight A's in school, held up a part time job at a luxury retail store, finally created a social life for myself, and have no symptoms of any psychological disease or disorder. Cleaning up the mess from being a walking zombie the last two years and realizing all of the opportunities I missed has been an arduous task to say the least, I DO NOT recommend seeing this doctor for any reason
